You know what the problem is? He’s slightly right. Remember in 2016 when it was about Hilarys health, then 2020 about Bidens health? Both were only minor concerns and blown up to be the end of the world.

Now it’s 2024 and Bidens health is a grave concern. And they’re blowing it up to be the end of the world. But because they reacted that way to minor shit, people like Pat aren’t taking this seriously.
nice hindsight bias, stupid.

Biden’s Pres Sec today claimed he had a cold and still has a cold and hasn’t taken anything for it so I guess that will be the go-to for him looking awful - he has a cold that will last until November
This isn’t even some propagandizing that relies on people not keeping up with the news / not being knowledgable on politics. It’s propaganda that relies on everyone being literally fucking blind.

Question. If you have a cold and that causes you to fuck up your debate, wouldn’t you leak that to the media hours before to temper expectations? Guess not.

Its quite literally insulting. I have read too many excerpts of insulting Democratic fundraiser emails. Calling anyone scared of Bidens performance “bedwetters” “cowards” “Buying into false media narratives” etc

There was one that basically said “You may have been hearing a lot about the debate - Maybe you got a call from your panicked Aunt. Or your doomer nephew. Or your gloating MAGA neighbor”, basically, if you’re concerned about this you’re a fucking idiot who should die.

I couldn’t imagine the Democrats would run a worse, more insulting campaign than 2016. Yet here we are.

Well hindsight is 2020…to put that into the opposite corner, it was like back in 2016 when the media would make whatever dumb shit Trump said, like the wall, to be the end of the world. Now he’s talking about mass deportations, detention camps, and dictatorships, and now THATS the end of the world. My point was more so that the media overblows shit constantly, and then that shit that should be taken seriously never does because of the previous shit they freaked out about

At this point it’s like the want Trump to win just so they can blame him for all the shit he will inherit from Biden, they know 4 more years of Biden will make everyone see he’s shit and democrats will be screwed for the next couple elections. Dems have been fucking up for years and know to blame it on Trump who hasn’t been in any kind of government position since Jan 2021z

It's gaslighting. Text book gaslighting. For as much as they overused that term when Trump was president, the White House staff is committing more egregious gaslighting than anything Trump did.

No, child, the president is not senile, those are your delusions. He merely had a cold and is more fit and competent that ever.

The only good part is the press is pushing back because they are tired of carrying water for Biden while at the same time his staff treats them like they are stupid.

Excerpts from news articles about the emails:

“The bedwetting brigade is calling for Joe Biden to ‘drop out.’ That is the best possible way for Donald Trump to win and us to lose,” Flaherty said in the email titled, “7 Things to Tell Your Friends After The Debate — And 4 Things You Can Do”

From a different one:

"If you’re like me, you’re getting lots of texts or calls from folks about the state of the race after Thursday," reads the email. "Maybe it was your panicked aunt, your MAGA uncle, or some self-important podcasters. It’s a tough position to be in, so I thought it might be helpful to send you a few responses."

Another one:

Biden campaign chairwoman Jennifer O'Malley Dillon said on Saturday, however, that internal post-debate polling showed "voters' opinions were not changed". "It will not be the first time that overblown media narratives have driven temporary dips in the polls," she said.

Oh make no mistake. They would be fine hiding Bidens condition if he himself could hide it. But at this point they would be risking the smidgen of credibility they have by printing outright lies that his debate performance was great and Biden is fine. This jeopardizes them, because for the last year they’ve been rebuking the portraits of senility only for them to come alive in front of 50 million people for over an hour. No doubt they feel extremely slighted that all it took to undo their spin machine was one debate.

What they did to favor the debate for Biden (no audience, mute button, have Biden questions in advance etc) only made Biden look worse. With a crowd and Trump yelling over him Biden could hide his issues (like the last debate) but they put him front and center without a net and showed the country he’s the mess they’ve worked so hard to tell us he isn’t

Mr. Biden was drained enough from the back-to-back trips to Europe that his team cut his planned debate preparation by two days so he could rest at his house in Rehoboth Beach, Del., before joining advisers at Camp David for rehearsals. The preparations, which took place over six days, never started before 11 a.m. and Mr. Biden was given time for an afternoon nap each day, according to a person familiar with the process.

This is our President. A doddering grandpa who needs his afternoon naps. God help us.

Funny how they mentioned Trump’s “late night tweets” as an issue in the last Biden campaign ad - now that looks like a positive thing since Joe seems to only be able to function from 10am to 4pm with a nap in the middle.

I saw some interview with Obama where he was talking about his average schedule. The basic gist of it is waking up at 9am then not sleeping until like 2am. More than half the day was comprised of work so it wasn’t until like 10-11pm he would actually have time with his family.

Joes schedule likewise, at least whats publicly available, is that he wakes up at about 7-8am, but he starts his relaxation time around 7-8pm. And this doesn’t take into account his afternoon nap.

They also like to cut his days short often - he will do something like a speech at like noon-1pm and that’s it for the day. It’s why they can rarely ever get him to answer questions - when he’s done that’s it. Say what you will about Trump but he would stand out and take questions after getting off the plane / helicopter etc
