I really hope it goes poorly for pat. Not even vindictively, but in the sense that his only hope of growth - which I seriously doubt would happen anyway - is to hit rock bottom like any other addict.
He won't change, though. I don't think pat has any tools for introspection. I think he'll just continue to have the same problems in one arena or another for the rest of his life, regardless of jail, bankruptcy, ostracization, humiliation, poverty, etc etc.
Pat is Japan in WW2. Propped up with bravado from earlier success, he leveraged some ill developed sense of divine right and built a personality around it. He then went looking for the big fight with self assured victory ringing in his ears. Now fast forward 5 years later and he's got no carriers, no pilots, no oil, and yet he's still flying planes into ships and continuing a useless conflict.
Pat, it's over. Just stop. Don't sink the Yamato. Just do the responsible thing and accept defeat. You should be focusing on rebuilding your life, not threatening to end ours.

Lmao. I can't possibly imagine what is inside this one. Man submits motion to continue past all the deadlines without an attorney, just 3 days before being tried for contempt for attempting to stall. No attorney would have recommended that he do this. Wouldn't surprise me if he is planning on filing for bankruptcy thinking it will make this hearing go away.

Its hilarious because its over a closed case he is refusing to pay. Its not an ongoing case. Pat thinks he can make an argument that can magically overturn the ruling. Seems like this tactic would usually be effective most of the time but there isnt anything to discuss but how he is going to start paying this off. Plus he has that amortization that he flaked on that shows he now owes a couple people because of this. I hope the guy pat screwed over that set the amortization is friends of the judge and he takes it personal. I hope pat doesnt think because he filed that that he will get an update on the website that he doesnt have to show. I think he will need to still show up thursday and politely explain why he needs more time. I dont think pat will be able to talk his way out of it. I think all it will do is frustrate the judge and he will shame pat. Hopefully to the point pat thinks its the right time to stand up for himself and be confrontational.
