Nothing fanciful. Ricardo somehow funded a lawsuit in the 6 figure range.
Yet he is a fat peasant who was shocked someone had $17k around them to fend off frivalous litigation.

SWFA went to court at the expense of around $10k to not have to divulge any financial details between them and fatty.
just previous to that, all they said they had on file was the last 4 digits of his card no. If this was true they just spent $10k on not giving it out 4 (useless) digits.

SFWA have misused funds in a vanity lawsuit, given to a member who only just re-signed up to sfwa before the lawsuit. He had cancelled his membership some years before after not winning an award.

I'm sure SFWA members would like some concrete proof what management did with their membership dues.
It would also answer the question as to whether it was a loan or funding.

If its a loan, piggy owes SWFA more than he does quasi.
If its funding then piggy owes the tax on the gift and owes Uncle Sam a chunk
That SFWA involvement should be revealed in his financials if he cooperates with this next court date, shouldnt it?

The PPP money was like ~$35k between the two, I think, which isn't all that much money 3 years later.
Around $42k, apparantly. $12,000 for Rick and nearly $30,000 for Robinson Writers LLC, which apparently had six employees ("jobs"), what?

Nothing fanciful. Ricardo somehow funded a lawsuit in the 6 figure range.
I'll admit I'm quite ignorant on the costs of pursuing a civil suit in the US, is it realistic that Piggy's costs were in the 100k range? Wouldn't they have been more in line with Quasi's legal fees?

I'm playing extra dumb because I'd just like someone to explain to me another angle in which Rick is unambiguously fucked.

add that Pat specifically told Josiah that he'd spent around $100k at that point, and that a "professional organisation" that he was a member of had bankrolled him.
I forgot about that, that's a good point.

Devil's advocate: Rick has proven himself to lie incessantly to sympathetic journalists and anyone else who will listen.

The problem was, Pat hired a boutique firm, which isn't cheap. Then they weren't licenced in Wisconsin, so that meant they had to bring in Nicole M. Ways, and trade on her law licence. That's two lawyers. Then - and this should have been a warning sign - they weren't licenced to practice in California where all the tech giants are, either, and so they had to bring in Stavros Halkias Esq.; so that's another lawyer added to the bill. I can't remember if Stavvy represented Pat in both California cases or not.

If Quasi's costs were $32k or so, I can see how Pat running his side through 4x as many lawyers would incur 4x the cost. I'm not sure Quasi had to file anything in Wisconsin either, as all the fun stuff happened in California; so that's just on Pat/the SFWA.

They aren't really journalists, though. They're content creators for their respective networks and aren't doing any journalism. They probably don't have the resources to follow up beyond interviewing a couple of dolts to allow them a platform for their grievance that takes up some space on their repetitive news broadcast. Besides, I bet they have plenty of questions but because it's nothing more than time filler they're on to the next story, dog that has been greeting mailman everyday for 8 years.

I would love if the debtors exam leads to them finding out some government scam these two bums are pulling. One of the biggest mysteries of Pat and Niki is where the hell the money is coming from. The whole point of buying that dump would be to rent one floor out to help pay off the mortgage and eventually rent out both floors while living elsewhere.

For example a friend of mine bought a place like pats (not a shitty dump in the ghetto but a two story split house) and did just that. He went one step further and once he had enough paid off from having tenants and made the first floor a barbershop / hair saloon since he himself was a barber. Smart move and obviously worked out.

But these two didn’t do that, I’d imagine piggy would be the worst landlord but they don’t even rent out one side. Pat’s books don’t sell, he rarely does cons anymore, he doesn’t even try to promote his work much on twitter (look at EVS for an example, he’s always promoting his work and making sales) and doesn’t even do freelance articles. He lays around and tweets - that’s it.

Niki is even more of a mystery - PBG doesn’t even seem like a legitimate company since she uses a gmail account and they took PPP loans for a business that can be done 100% remotely.

Just the fact Niki brought up the subject of their finances on that podcast with that “they think my mother supports us - which is hilarious” was odd. Even weirder was not even a couple minutes later she said we find out everything.

I’m betting on they have some caregiver scam, Pat refusing to get a real job is clear he’s being paid to stay home while Niki gets paid to watch her retard of a husband. His book sales are so low that it probably doesn’t interfere with his gov money.

Lotta fawkin questions if you ask me. They are doing everything they can to keep their financials a secret - even possibly going to jail over it.

Something smells fishy and it’s not just Niki

If they wanted to keep everything secret they'd have started paying Quasi soon after the judgement. That avoids a debtor's exam and avoids him taking the SFWA to court to try to get the details of Pat's funding out of them.

TL, DR: Pat's Fatricked his financial privacy.

SFWA probs got invoiced directly by minc law / Rodney Halkias etc. I doubt any money was exchanged between them and Pat.

Does that change things? I dunno probably not. If they never had a paper trail does Pat have to say who paid for the lawsuit under oath and does it even matter?

I just know Hildeman is probably an offending pedophile.

I think it is in creditors interest to know how pat paid for the lawsuit. Remember, it was pat who was the plaintiff, not sifua. As we know lawsuits cost a lot of money so I doubt judge would rule against asking how did he pay for that.

Think about how the SFWA have to account for that. It's either a $100k+ loan to Pat; in which case Pat needs to list it in the debtor's exam as money he owes. Or, it's a $100k+ benefit they paid to Pat, in which case it comes up as income for him, and a loss for the SFWA. A loss which violates their own rules on helping authors, and is clearly not for the charitable purposes they were granted tax exempt status for, and if they get caught just handing out money to their friends they could lose that charity status.

In unrelated news, the SFWA spent $8k worth of legal fees trying (and succeeding) in keeping the details of Pat's payment from Quasi.

The SFWA situation could get very funny, very fast.

Also remember at the time of the suit that Mary three names was in charge and she got all pissy at us for messing with her. It wasn’t long after she had to step down - not sure if it was when Pat lost the case or it was clear they just blew 100k with nothing to show for it.

They paid to hide that for a reason. Pat wasn’t even a current member but they agreed to fund the case probably in principal as “fighting for authors to remove bad reviews on websites” like that is a serious problem. She took her anger on us and approved the suit because she wanted our little rascals to pay for making fun of her.

It is yes. Which is why quasi had a right to subpoena the sfwa. It was quashed and he moved on to other avenues. Court decisions are decided by humans and they rule against you sometimes. You need to have several paths forward. Also why someone else is currently facing contempt, likely to avoid answering.
I’m just being devils advocate but can’t SFWA argue they paid for their own lawsuit for their own interests protecting their members from fake bad reviews and Pat was just a conduit for it.

Though, it was Patrick’s case and he stood to win and he stood to lose, which he did, which is why this is occurring at all.

Has anyone ever been illicitly bankrolled to bring a civil case against someone, and then lost and then hidden backer was chased for the judgement since their conduit is a bum who could never pay it or start the case at all without them?

Then that very specific rare occurance, has it happened with a John Doe creditor using legal representation to claim it, with two cases and one domesticated across states to the state the debtor lives in and…. Oh what’s the point, obviously this is ground breaking faggotry in history.

Is quasi aware he could have taken to Twitter to bitch and moan and complain about the judge and then SWATT himself repeatedly to make the loss go away?

Just moving on is letting the idiots win.
