The Witcher 3. I've tried playing a couple of times now but I just hate everything about it. How it gets 10/10 OMG best game evarrrr reviews it beyond me.

I hated RDR2 for the first couple of hours but I pushed through and actually quite like it.
The Wither 3 has a very slow start.

Try it again and play to The Baron. The Baron is fucking awesome and sets the stage for the rest of the game. I almost quit before The Baron myself.

Also, there are some guides to tweaking settings if you're playing on console. It was made for PC so tweak those settings and make the game playable on a game pad.

Before the internet when I was very young (the only time when its acceptable to play video games) the poorly made games would infuriate you but you had no outlet to read/understand why.. Now it's clear as day the games that used to piss me off the most were the shittily developed cash grabs that were unplayable.

I can't tolerate more than 5 minutes of playing any recent video game, and by recent I mean post 2005. There was a time and a place when it was amusing and creative, technology lined up at the perfect time. I can't fathom how people sit there and play this total shit. Hours of your life. I will never get it.

Basically all the titles that follow the Half Life model. There's an incident. Little crawler creatures pop up. No big deal. Bigger versions pop up. Okay, might be an outbreak. Zombified humans. Oh shit. Zombified soldiers. Oh no, now zombified super soldiers. Now monsters from the home planet. Now their Queen monster. Set up for sequel.

That wasn't what made Half Life good - it was everything in between.
My problem with HL is that Gordon is just a bad ass. He's always a bad ass.

HL2 is the most overrated game of all time. You escape the city and then get in a boat, and instead of a kick ass action sequence, there's an annoying ass physics puzzle. Get through that and grab a motorcycle and drive for fucking hours through various choke checkpoints.

If they had shortened these sequences and kept the action up and removed the puzzles it would have been awesome. The gravity gun, once you get it, is cool, but the slog to get through it was not worth it. And the story sucks. Thanks brown lady for helping me out only to fuck everything up all the time.

Because when the games are good today, they're fantastic. But there are so few of them.

God of War on PS4 is phenomenal. Witcher 3 is great, as good as a novel. Zelda Breath of The Wild is just immersive and a great distraction if your life completely sucks balls.

But yeah, quality overall has tanked. What are some of them pre-2005 games you got?

I had The Orange Box on PS3.

Half Life 2 was fucking boring.

Portal was fun for like half an hour then it got old.

Team Fortress 2 was fun. Even had it on my PC for a while.

I was a Sonyfag so all my games were PS1 and PS2. I had the most fun playing GTA3, Vice City, San Andreas, the WWE wrestling games, Rayman, the original original NES games which I got from a hand-me-down.

When kids started strapping remotes to their arms after the PS2's time ended, I tapped out.

I have always fucking hated shooting games. Goldeneye was fun but I never owned an N64. I think that's my disconnect, my first console was an old NES then I jumped right to PS1 and later PS2. I never really played many of the classic N64/Gamecube/etc. games so I have absolutely no connection to a lot of the shit thats prevalent now.

I almost never buy "new" games, but this was definitely the biggest piece of shit the last decade from a AAA developer. A 60 hours uber eats simulator.

Don't know why I gave it a shot when I thought MGSV was a total piece of shit too. So why I thought this pseudo closet case would do any different with a new IP?

The faggot blamed the poor sales in the US because we prefer "FPS." Yet this guy had the entire English speaking gaming market in his hand for 20 years with a series that was focused strongly on it's storytelling. "It was too deep for you, bro."

Him and his faggot hard on, trying to get into Pedowood when he's even worse than the hacks they hire nowadays to write and direct.

I think that's a problem I have with a lot of games. There's no dedicated separate tutorial anymore. They make it part of the story so you're spending a long time getting introduced to how things work. It was the same with RDR2. An hour or two of hearing "Dutch! Blackwater! O'Driscolls!" over and over while being unable to just play the game because of all the handholding and cut-scenes got on my nerves.

I second Superman 64. My dad rented it from Blockbuster a couple times for me because I swore the dumb little rings you had to pass through was just the beginning of the game and it was going to get good.

As far as good games, Twisted Metal 1-4 was God tier.

I had a UFC game for the OG Xbox that had Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz on the cover and I remember it being fucking impossible to do anything. I was so excited to play it and it just sucked.
Was it this one?

I think that's a bit difficult to answer, because with video games if you don't like it then you usually don't play it. It's not like watching a bad movie, which might be 2 hours long, you really have to invest time into a game, and that's not gonna happen with a game you just don't like...
shut up you faggot. Nice avi tho

for me it's The Fifth Element PSX. This is not based on some kind of video game historical review but expectation/value ratio back when Toys R' Us existed and had a candyman-esque video game library. The only game for me that memorably compared with this ratio of positive expectation/disappointment discrepancy is the original Resident Evil released for PSX around 1996 which I got, played through the first few mansion puzzles, and promptly decided was a nasty flop. I went to attempt to return the discs at the mall with a parent but realized they only gave like 15% back on what you bought and just went home with it. Forcing me to enjoy it was obviously a good outcome. the RE franchise is great fun and I'm glad I was in on the ground floor

The Orange Box console ports were "meh". But not the worse games ever. Especially Portal.

Each to their own.

Had a nostalgia flash in December and got a Sega Mega Drive (Genesis) Mini "for my kid" for one of his Christmas presents. 42 games built into this tiny little version of the 90s console. Sonic 1/2, Street Fighter 2, Earthworm Jim and Tetris are all cool.

Everything else stinks. Virtua Fighter, Ecco the Dolphin, Altered Beast, Streets of Rage 2, Goldenaxe etc. Some real duds in there. Sonic is great though. Funny seeing my 6 year old boy, who has his own i-pad and is way more computer savvy than I was at twice his age, getting utterly absorbed in that game from 1991.
