Mulholland Drive
Synechdoche New York
The Darjeeling Limited, which I think is underrated as fuck, could also go with Grand Budapest Hotel. Big Wes Anderson fan.
There Will Be Blood
Blade Runner 2049
Blade Runner 2
It had no business being as good as it was, it actually captured the feel of the original. I thought that was an atmosphere long gone with CGI and focus groups, not to mention a 30 year sequel.
I love that opening. His movies always have great music. Darjeeling really caught me off guard when the kid drowns. The Darjeeling Limited introduced me to the Kinks.

My wife, who wasn't necessarily a fan of the first Blade Runner ( I suspect that it was the pacing) even liked BR 2049. I dreaded it's release, but I walked out holding it in as high esteem as the first. It was everything a legacy sequel should be.Blade Runner 2

This is my vote too. The first time I saw it, I had no idea what I was watching. But the second time, it all clicked. It's the greatest dream sequence ever filmed.Mulholland Drive
That is a great movie. David Lynch has a good eye on making his shit seem like you're watching some sort of dream, like Blue Velvet and Twin Peaks. This is my vote too. Yeah, Trainspotting 2 was surprisingly satisfying. A bit too many "wink at the audience" callbacks to the 1st movie, but it holds up as it's own.My wife, who wasn't necessarily a fan of the first Blade Runner ( I suspect that it was the pacing) even liked BR 2049. I would say that Trainspotting 2 is a similar legacy sequel of comparable quality to the original.
