The President does do shit. A lot of shit. He nominates judges. He nominates Supreme Court justices. He has veto power. He runs and staffs his cabinets which perform various actions (although i’m sort of miffed as to how much power they have). He can sign executive orders. He is essentially the military leader of our country. The United States has never entered a war through congress authorizing war alone. It has ALWAYS been the President who either initiated the proceedings or agreed with them if they were initiated by Congress. (The only exception to this may be Adams preventing us from going to war with France while the Democratic-Republican congress wanted it - Don’t remember if they ever gave the president authority and he just didn’t use it though.)

One reason is because people don't want to buy anymore and are tight with money. I went with a job of having 5 days (overtime too) a week with extra co-workers to 6 days because my boss doesn't want to bring on new hires.

I'm not saying Trump is god but don't pretend like wasn't better under him.

Actually, trump allowed the senate to pass the new tax bill (tcja) which cost me an extra roughly 20k that year in taxes and several thousand since then (i didn't calculate the exact delta after each year).
