  • Yes but, he is just a member they don't have financial information
    • You have to sign an affidavit stipulating your information

The judge seemed to have a problem understanding Patrick's prominence in the organization and how loose and disorderly it is. Jen did good lawyering, but he could have dropped something like:

"SFWA's professional relationship with Mr. Tomlinson is so extensive and well-documented that it's been featured in national media. TIME reported that Mr. Tomlinson receives help from SFWA to curate online reviews and help sell books, strongly suggesting a contractual/financial relationship."

You can't blame Jerry here because something like that isn't required in a debt collection. Jen wouldn't have ever needed to provide that.

If you listened closely, you could tell Jerry was also trying to do the pro tem's work for him. He said he would write an argument for why the case cited didn't apply. Similar to how Stein gave two chances. He wouldn't even allow that. He said he would research himself, and then put that in his recommendation.
