In the 80s AM stations used to carry for hundreds of miles, I remember you could listen to Limbaugh on any one of 4 stations if you were outside NY, we could pick up AM stations from NH down to Georgia. I am guessing the current weak signal is just cost cutting by ABC over the past 40 years. Most other AM stations now broadcast on FM directly or as one of those 2nd / third channels

I remember a few old AM stations that had booming signals. You could pick those stations up with ease, anywhere. WFAN, WCBS, 1010WINS, WABC. Now they all sound like shit, and they fade out if a cloud passes by.

In lots of places there is a lack of concern or will to upkeep AM transmitter equipment. They'll just dump more power instead of maintaining shit. You can go on shortwave right now and hear Radio Romania International with better modulation than this piece of shit. I'm not exagerrating.

6) The Hot Talk format has failed even worse than conventional Talk Radio. Let's remember there used to be FM Hot Talk stations in many large markets, with Howard Stern as the morning show. When he left terrestrial radio, the Hot Talk format collapsed, with only a few Hot Talk stations, nearly all in Florida, still functioning. In some cases Sports radio has taken their place. But in medium and local markets, you got nothing.

His career is toast.

Edit: Fuck I read 2024 instead of 14, but it's probably not better with time.

I could barely get through it, and I tried in segments. The audio is fucking ungodly bad - I get it's AM, but Christ, this is like Jimmy Saville talking through a steel tube with a vibrator in the background.

The most offensive thing isn't even his glossing over his offenses, which I expected. It's not even the lack of taking real calls, which I didn't quite expect but wasn't surprised. It's the fact he's a fucking bore.

Joe could entertain me more just by being stupid. Anthony is the worst kind of stupid - the confident kind.
