I disappeared for a few hours in the middle of the day one time with no recollection of what happened. All I remember is going up a trail a little bit to take a piss while I was out exploring with my friend. I came back out a minute later and he wasn't there anymore so I started heading back.

I'm just getting into this big fallow field we'd crossed on our way to the woods and I see him walking back towards me from a long way off - way further than I expected him to be. We finally meet up and he asks me where the hell I went. I thought he was just fucking with me but when we got back to his house his mom was asking where I'd gone, too.

There's no way he ran all the way home and coordinated with his mom to mess with me. He wasn't capable of running that far in the amount of time he'd been out of my sight.

Nothing like that has happened since but it was definitely weird.
Molested.

Not me, but my mom told me a story that still sticks with me. She was out at a hunting cabin with my dad, and he went out hunting, leaving her alone. When he came back he asked why she was walking around outside, because there were footprints in the snow leading from the nearby woodline to the cabin, and right up on the house around the perimeter. She said the whole time she had that feeling of being watched.

One time, my parents became very delusional about a particular rank smell supposedly invading our home, claiming it doesn't go away ever, has no source and only seems to linger like above shoulder level and thus must be clearly ghostly in nature. They had guests over who clearly didn't buy it and appeased them by saying they smelled it too. My batshit mom kept burning incense and other smelly shit for months to "exorcise it", claiming that managed to get it out of the hallway into the kitchen, and then finally out of the house.

Having multiple adults around you have a group delusion/hallucination and nobody that seems to be rational daring to even question it as a kid is scary as hell.

Didn't smell fuckin' shit. Kind of wish I had. People who are into the supernatural are kooky, huh gang? *looks at thread* Oh....

I solved my final unexplained mystery last week. A year ago I was looking at a Where’s Wally book and one of the pages was nothing but literary references. I saw this picture:

View attachment 141088

And had an instant and intense feeling like I had read whatever the reference was but could not remember it. I probably spent several hours searching for the answer because I was so convinced I had read whatever it was.

Then last week I was looking through a book of nursery rhymes I used to have when I was a child and turned the page to this:

Pretty fucking weird... I hadn't thought about this poem until about 5 minutes before I read your post. My wife was looking for old Childrens' TV clips to show our son and this was being read on one of the clips. No BS.

Edit. There is a name for when you notice something then suddenly start noticing it everywhere, but I don't remember what it is.

When I was 18-19, leaving a local bands concert, I had a very weird experience. Had my gf with me. On the way home, making a left turn, a car had run their red and I couldve have sworn they hit us. But it felt like they went right through us. My GF was shocked and we both were confused because it really felt like that car should have plowed through us but it didn't. If it weren't for her reaction, I would have just thought I was overreacting.
There's a theory (multiverse or simulation or something) that you never die in your existence. You die to the people around you in their existence, but whatever it was that killed you never happened in the new thread (or whatever you want to call it) and your life just continues on.

Top of my head I can think of 3 times I probably died.

There's also the idea of serendipity. Which is basically just all coincidences are connected in a way that makes you happy. Something like you're having a bad day at work and you just want your wife to make meatloaf for dinner, you don't tell her that, but when you get home she's made meatloaf.

That one I started noticing years ago. If I bitch a lot to my wife about something at work then something "fixes" it. I work with a lot of engineers who are pretty introverted. I'll bitch that my boss has never given me a company shirt and then a couple days later he gives me a shirt. There's been some odd ones like that where it's almost as if she's called whoever I was complaining about and told them.

There's the one where the universe gives you clues something is going to happen if you just pay attention to the sign. Example is I got new tires and I was going to the car for work. I focused on a tire for no reason it wasn't low or anything. I got to work and the tire had a nail in it. They're easier to spot in hindsight.

Same idea as deja vu. I always know something big is about to happen in life when I get hit by one.

Connected consciousness. Haven’t talked to my father in years because he was a piece of shit and don't know whats going on with him. Had two vivid dream about him one night. Found out a few months later that he was in the hospital for a bypass around that time.

Last one @NoBacon will like because it's more out there. Early in the covid shots there was a wild theory there that they were changing people into demons or something different/evil. I was in a meeting with my team and I started disagreeing with one of them. I glanced over at my boss and his face looked like AL Pacino in The Devils Way when he revealed himself. It stuck with me.

I actually like the multiverse theory. I'd be interested in hearing your near death experiences.

I had one where I was fucking around drinking codeine cough syrup and alcohol and I felt like I was gonna be sick, so I went into the bathroom and then I felt like I was slipping into darkness and I pulled the towel rack off the wall as I fell. Then literally like a minute later I got up, felt totally normal, and fixed the towel rack. Part of me thinks I died in one universe and just popped into another one

Anybody who thinks they know the nature of reality because of the limited senses they posses personally and their tiny understanding of “science” they idolise but don’t understand is a gigantic fucking retard.

For some reason we act like this is being smart and not falling for dogma or anything, it’s the exact opposite.

I am completely open minded to anything. I just know I asked God to heal my connection to the world, and He did it instantly. I’m not a good Christian, but I’m aware of it and trying to get better:

My weird story, a while back my grandpa died unexpectedly on my grandma’s birthday, I hadn’t been overdrawn in my checking account since I was a teenager, but I was -70 dollars that day because of a load of stupid various circumstances. I went to my grandma’s house to help out and when I left it started raining and I didn’t bring a coat, so my grandma gave me his coat. In the pocket was a scratch card, they gave each other scratch cards for their birthdays as a private joke ritual thing.

Anyway, I checked it and it won 70 dollars.

Kind of weird. He always instilled this value of helping people out but only enough to help themselves, not to pamper them or anything. I mean it wasn’t a big deal, I could have moved money around or just waited a few days till I got paid, but it felt very much like his old sardonic wit of being like “how the fuck do you become over drawn in your 30s making 70k?”

I never ever dream about my late mother, not once.

I was having a real bad time struggling to sleep, weeks on end. People who go through this know the sheer hell it is. Everyday is a nightmare.

I just couldn’t relax at night, I couldn’t break this intrusive thought pattern when I was trying to sleep, just bombardment of repeated nonsensical thought loops. People who know what I mean about that also know what I’m talking about it. You recognise it but you can’t stop it.

Anyway, it usually takes one night of solid sleep to break the cycle, and I got it this night I dreamed about my mother, I haven’t done it since. It didn’t feel like a dream, it felt like I was physically some place, it was the house I grew up in and my mom was there with my first dog and she just told me she would help me relax but she couldn’t do it again, even though she wanted to, and just imparted a lot of helpful advice.

I told my sister about it a few days later and she said that night was the first time in months she didn’t dream about her, and she had a horrible night terror.

I mean the answer is probably just a family of crazy people, but it’s pretty fucking weird.

There’s a theory when they first turned the LHC on looking for the god particle in Switzerland it started the overlapping universes, which is why millions of people swear blind they saw Mandela’s funeral in the 80s, or that Britney Spear’s wore a plaid skirt in her music video and not a black one, or the millions of other Mandela effect stuff.

It is kinda weird when it’s like “I’m sure it was a plaid skirt” and shit. Was it always solid black?

A couple of weeks ago we were walking thru a tunnel at work when we noticed a old rusty hatch in the floor. I've been there 20 years and have walked that tunnel 1000s of times and never noticed it and no one else has either. No one else who works there has any idea what it is and it doesn't show up on any of the plant plans which date back 50 years to when it was first built. We opened it up one night and went down the old ladder which lead us to a tunnel with train tracks in it. We followed it about 200 yards till the tunnel collapsed and we had to turn around. Judging from above ground we can only guess it was a tunnel that was used to transport giant chlorine gas cylinders from the storage building across the street but there's no record of it which is strange. Plus when we got to the end of it we could hear voices and laughing on the otherside. Our security director put a lock on it and covered it with a pallet of sandbags so no one can sneak in thru it.
