Nah man. I had to overcome my own innate upper middle class Englishman snobiness to get to that place.

One of the best things that ever happened to me was having a father who paid for me to go to good schools etc but made me work from 15 ys old onwards for any "pocket money." Probably because his old man made him do the same.

I delivered newspapers until 18, worked in McDonald's, laboured on building sites in the summers during college, waitered in restaurants, worked in pubs and bars, silver service catering companies.

Apart from helping me grow as a person and develop a work ethic, it allowed me to mix with people from all walks and widen my horizons. So I totally get the mindset of people who are like "fuck it, I want to eat what I know and like while on holiday" because it completely makes sense if you're on a budget and only have one vacation a year.
