I go back and forth on how I feel about Chiam Witz. On one hand he’s a walking stereotype, always looking to Jew the fans out of money and some kind of grift. He’s a sexual degenerate and should probably be thrown out of a helicopter for Nickel and dimming his fans the way he does. On the other hand most of his fans are boomers or Gen X borderline boomers, so fuck them.

I hate how he carries himself like he's a wise, brilliant expert on all topics. I know that any official Metallica VHS had heavy overdubbing. I remember Nikki Six of all people pointing it out back in the day. I do think that Lars probably did put some effort in for a while and was probably a stable drummer until the late 90s. I could be wrong though and maybe he was total shit from start to finish but I have seen bootlegs where he is totally competent.

Like, mediocre players from successful bands. Like Lars on Drums, Sid from Sex Pistols on bass etc. They were passable in other bands but together just make fucked up noise.

The one I can’t stand is slander against Meg White.

The primordial and elementary sound she stuck to on purpose was the entire point of The White Stripes project, and was the feel Jack chose and was going for.

It doesn’t mean it’s all Meg could do or that she had no capability for more and better. And even if she is or was so limited, it suited the songs & lives of the band she was in. Plus, she always was apathetic about technical rudiments, and thought music nerds & anoraks were boring creeps because she’s got some interiority. Meg’s a star is what I’m saying.
