does he have all this crap for himself or for others to pick up during jams in the basement? He really is just an average guitar player, not even wedding band quality, for him to waste time pretending he plays other instruments is just stupid. I can’t imagine how bad he’d sound on a banjo.

LOL no one jams with Joe. He's an obnoxious showboat who can't resist the urge to waddle on center stage. He buys that junk because it's easier to display a bunch of guitars and pretend you're an accomplished, versatile musician than it is to put the work in to actually become one. "Oh yeah, that's my banjo. Of course I can play it! Not now, though, it needs new strings and will just sound terrible if I play it now. Listen to me play "Layla" again".
