Cocky Pat was a great character. You had brothamen deleting accounts and even leaving the forums entirely while Pat was so confident with his lawsuit, taunting us on his women's stalking victim podcast.

His confidence now just reads like a charade. Even he can't muster up enough to make it believable.
I still wonder if any of those brothamen that got lost still linger here

unless he declares bankruptcy before the hearing.

The best possible outcome is no additional sanctions or penalties. Rick shows up, apologizes and they schedule another debtor exam. This is the best possible outcome unless he declares bankruptcy before the hearing.
So whatever the opposite of that is, will be the route pat chooses to take. He either shows up and makes a scene to get a second contempt charge, He just doesnt show up and gets a warrant and arrested later that day, or He skips town and takes a trip somewhere to claim he wasnt in the area to attend and gets arrested when he returns.

If he doesn't show up, my understanding is that there would be a bench warrant - in other words, he wouldn't get arrested immediately after failing to report for the hearing, but he would if he has some future interaction with law enforcement.

Oh, well good thing Porkrick never interacts with law enforcement.

Will he get a chance to present evidence? I hope so because that could be a whole new frontier in Pat lore.
As admin keeps pointing out. What evidence could he bring? This is literally about him not showing up at a previous hearing and bragging about it. Unless he can show he got hit by a bus then nothing he brings is relevant

This spate of media appearances (and the fact that he's proactively reaching out to journalists and media outlets) really suggests that he's attempting to generate a lot of public awareness that he can turn into a GoFundMe that would bail him out of this.
They are trawling for an opportunistic lawyer who will be greedy enough to try to sue MPD despite Pat and Niki not having a case.

He said he would never do a GFM which means he wants someone to do one for him. Prob not a good time, even Ooga can’t get the money he’s begging for.

I don't think he'd accept it if someone else made one either, because that would mean tacticly acknowledging and accepting the legitimacy of the debt and, by implication, is an admission that he's going to pay for it. That's what "help x pay for y" entails.

Rick has no problem talking about the debt in the interviews because within the same breath he rejects its legitimacy and use it as an argument in his victim narrative that the courts and laws are bizarro and need to be radically changed. He only mentions it because he thinks it might stoke media outrage at his supposed mistreatment and strengthen his case of incompetent law enforcement endangering their lives on flimsy pretexts.

The reality is that Pat and Niki are completely fucked from a legal angle. They lost the trial and no lawyer is going to talk their way out of the debt. Even they are smart enough to understand that. Their only hope is an extralegal solution. Stir up media buzz, act like victims and martyrs, fling as much shit as possible at the local authorities. For what purpose, exactly? To get a lawyer or activist group to sue the city on their behalf? To get a career as professional victims later down the road? A Hail Mary that the federal government or law enforcement will swoop in and annul everything somehow?

They're all longshots but I guess even a 1% chance of something working is preferable to being in a crippling debt you'll never be able to pay off. Especially when you're a pair of pigheaded delusional narcissists who've had a black-and-white, fight to the death mentality from the start. Hence the media frenzy. It might seem desperate and pointless to us, but from their point of view their best course of action after having willfully torpedoed any attempt at peaceful compromise is to now raise as big a stink as possible, and with it their profile, on the slim chance it might lead to something other than what's 99.9999% sure to happen.

I have a feeling he's gonna change his stance on accepting money once the courts feed him his own ass in a few weeks and layout just how fucked he really is
