Twitter is great for sports dorks. I follow every league, most teams and a few reporters. Highlights and updates across the world are posted in seconds. And there's very little political stuff if you follow the right people. I only wish you could bust balls without everyone getting their feelings hurt.
Since ESPN launched its Plus service you can get the same updates in the same amount of time. However I prefer Fox Sports to ESPN as far as updates and coverage go.

They make about 30% margin on every car they build, which is great. The company doesn’t make that much profit overall because they’re spending billions building factories all over the world and doing R&D. This is typical of any technology company that is growing.

I don’t own the stock because of the nonsensical hype and I don’t own any of their cars because I think they’re overpriced and the quality and customer service is questionable. But to act like this isn’t a successful company is insane.
If you have a business that costs more money to run than it makes, it goes bankrupt. That's how business works.

In Musk's case, his businesses don't go bankrupt due to massive government handouts.

Tell you what - you go through this graph, add up all of Tesla's profits, then subtract the $3.3 billion in handouts they got; and see how successful they really are. To quote Pat's new favourite author:
I’m gonna be the biggest retard here and jump in. Your guys’ definitions of “success” is different.

Jerkstore is saying they are successful doing what they doThey are playing the game and succeeding at it. Maybe long term it’s not going to work but, currently, doing well.

Fur and bacon are saying it’s not successful because it’s creating a bubble that’s doomed to pop. Many business’ operate this way in America. It’s what creates so many problems in the country in the first place. It’s not ackshuly successful.

There. Now I’m the biggest retard and you can all hop on me for being a gay faggot.

Yeah pretty much. The only thing I liked about Tesla was it seemed to abhor (((planned obsolescence))) which would be shockingly refreshing, but I don’t believe that’s true anymore. Their cars are not built to last.

I think you are pretty much right.

The problem with the argument they are making is that a growing tech company isn’t meant to be profitable while growing. The whole point of building a bunch of factories and doing research is so that you can make money in the future.

If anyone wants to argue that the company is going to fail in the future, that’s fine, you can make a compelling argument for that but you aren’t going to do it using today’s net profits because it’s going to make you look like a clown.

they aren’t doing any research, though. It’s all vapourware. I don’t actually care or anything, but I’m not sure what research you think they are doing, the thing about not making money being normal for tech companies isn’t accurate when it comes to this, there’s no road map to profitability that doesn’t include goverment hand outs for crony nonsense like carbon credits.

if you look at their projections for cars sold, and you know anything about lithium mining, you know it’s quite literally impossible, and it’s always just round the corner, it’s always this big breakthrough on the horizon which never arrives. When the investors stop pouring money in, when the government stop keeping it afloat, then what?

Im not going to try and argue whether or not their research is good or effective or will lead to future breakthroughs because I’m not a Tomlinson. Time will tell.

if you think they aren’t doing any research at all and are just stealing the money then I guess that’s where we are at. I don’t work there so I can’t say for sure. If there had been some investigation done that proves that I’d be interested in seeing it because that would be a pretty big story.

every car company is now converting to EVs so clearly they must see a solution to the Lithium problem on the horizon. But maybe they’re wrong and you’re right and they’re throwing away hundreds of billions for nothing. We’ll see.

I know nothing about musks dealings or any of this subject. What I will ask is, what makes you think government handouts are going to stop? They continually happen. PPP loans were mostly spent on companies like Target. Despite supposedly being for small business. Almost all large corporations aren’t profitable. They get subsidies, write offs, exemptions etc etc. When bubbles collapse, the government bails it out, and the tax payer suffers, does nothing and it keeps going. Inflation and the entire U.S. economy currently are a result of that. The only real changes that are going to occur have to be done through government. Which, there’s hopeful shit about secession but, I don’t see too much changing anytime soon.

Elon is an erratic narcissist.

PayPal succeeded in spite of him, and was only called PayPal after he was fired. Tesla was founded by other people, he just bought in and pretended he founded it. It only makes a slender profit from government hand outs for dubious green energy tax credit schemes and only got to that position by continuing to get free government handouts for failed promises of hiring local workers and the like, Toshiba make the batteries.

spacex relies on government handouts on more failed promises. It’s mostly vapourware.

His other companies are plainly a joke, the boring company and hyperloops, that retarded skylink internet thing. Solarcity was pure vapourware and he illegally got Tesla to buy it at made up valuations when it was actually insolvent.

His latest twitter shit is just another footnote in the continued retardation of monorail salesman Musk
Are you doing a Rick bit right now?

IMO you guys are all missing the point. Elon with Twitter is one of the following: a pump and dump stock play, a PR/troll stunt, an attempt to take over and save a failing media company, or all of the above.

No matter which one of these it is, we all win because the trannies and Patricks of the world are SEETHING.

that’s true, I’m waiting for the inevitable collapse. “Official” debt is only 30 trillion or so, the real number is about 200 trillion (unsecured liabilities)

1 trillion seconds is 33,000 years. To sort of put that in perspective. You’d have to have a time machine, go back tens of thousands of years and save 1 million dollars a day to even begin to touch the national debt.

the petro dollar keeps hyper inflation at bay, when we need 50k USD to buy a loaf of bread, and that’s changing with the Saudis courting the Chinese, with Russia moving to a gold standard.

every year we raise the ceiling, every year we have more trillion dollar budgets for god knows what.

I put all my 401k and savings into my own hands now, knowing it’s ultimately meaningless. Future generations won’t get social security. Not that boomers give a fuck if they’re taken care of today.

that’s my Joe Cumia rant. It’s coming, there’s no doubt about it

He's trolling. The stock price is soaring at the prospect of Twitter not being a circle jerks for faggots like Pat. Even if he does nothing, he's at least made it obvious that there's demand for a non-tranny-run platform.

This thread is painful to read in general as it steers into Tomlinson territory but I kind of see what you're trying to say but like Dan the Hung Man said it sounds like you don't actually understand building a business and instead point to autistic YouTube videos as proof of why the emperor has no clues.

Amazon is an example of a profitless company for like damn near 30 years. Are we going to argue Amazon is not a successful business? It's not rare for a growing company to be unprofitable as it reinvests any excess funds back into its development. Are government contracts not considered valid income? Not saying they are efficient or anything but that isn't the company's fault. Take the money. Spacex is putting rockets and shit into space and doing it cheaper than NASA ever did. If Tesla doesn't have any novel or interesting technology it sure is strange that all the major car companies are panicking and trying to emulate what they've done. Like Jerk said, I would not buy a Tesla right now but they took on the auto giants and fucking carved out a successful niche. That's amazing.

The inflation thing will probably suck and our standard if living will likely decrease, at least for the poor and middle class. But the sky won't fall. I've been listening to the Chicken Little shit for 25 years.

Pat is a fat fuck.
