Mine also does that. I'm pretty sure she wanted me to be some introverted pussy whose afraid to be away from her.

I've had other family tell me my mother wanted to do that to me. I guess it worked because I am an introverted pussy. The "wanting to be around mother all the time part" didn't pan out. Kind of the opposite.
When it comes to optimism she doesn't put me down and instead sees optimism where it isn't.
