By “1000 planets” does it mean procedurally generated shit like NMS? I remember when that concept was touted as “everyone gets a different experience” even though all those experiences were just boring as shit gameplay

When games became open world and people mistook story length and map size as fun I tapped out of single player games completely. They’re all just doing repetitive chores.

At some point I’ll probably play the new Zelda’s, as I’ve heard they’re more sandboxy and don’t hold your hand as much.

starfield somehow looks worse than I imagined

They barely showed any gameplay leading up to the release. They must have spent over double the budget on marketing. Because every faggot 'influencer' out there has shilled this game like their lives depended on it succeeding. They also did the thing where they buy blocks of reviews on sites that allow user reviews to boost the scores.

I'm tired of devs calling their games rpg's just cos you can make choices every now and then. it's about as much of an rpg as a telltale adventure "game"

There have been PR guys for sports management sims and fighting games calling their games both 'open world' and 'rpgs'.

Randomly generated content works fine for kids. They can play Minecraft and stupid puzzle games. But only the most low level braindead consumer idiot wants to play an RPG with endless lifeless random dungeons. Consistent of mindless AI and NPCs that do nothing but sponge bullets.

It's worse. Want to take off from a planet? Too bad here's a load screen while you fast travel to space. Want to fly to a planet and land? Too bad here is a load screen while you fast travel. Want to learn a specific skill with that skill point you just got? Too bad you have to waste it on 8 other skills just to access the one you want.

Gonna have to wait 3 years for all the good mods to come out, then who cares because Elder Scrolls 6 will be announced
