If anything happened at all I would guess the most likely scenario is that some ornery rascal posted something on a message board or a contact form offering fresh made pepperoni, made from children and a reader freaked out and called the cops to make sure that he wasn't making children into pepperoni, which I have no proof that he isn't doing.

The police log said a gunshot, resulting in "advice" or something. Swat is reported hostage taking, not just shooting a gun I think.
