What's the last video game you were excited for and enjoyed?

I really miss getting hyped for all the new releases, you used to have Halo 2 and GTA SA getting released in the same season or Battlefield 3 and Skyrim, good times.

RDR 2 was the last game I felt hyped up for, but I didn't end up playing a lot of it after release because there was no multiplayer and the first chunk of the single player felt pretty railroaded(not a pun)

Baldur's Gate 3

Really loved the previous game from the publisher and knew they actually gave a fuck about making a great game. Was not disappointed, the game is fantastic, allows so many different options to play out in every scenario, they have also continued to add a bunch of content without creating any DLC.

If you like RPG's it's worth the money and time.

Also has a multiplayer option for up to a party of 4

I played so much BG3. I loathe sex and romance in video games as I find it pathetic. Outside of that it's very good. Divinity Original Sin 2 was also super fun to play with others or solo. So many different ways to approach any fight. I've been a Larian fan since Divinity 2 which is different than D:OS2.

The last one where I did the fag thing and went to a midnight release party at Gamestop was for GTA: San Andreas. I even bought the new PS2 slim to play it on and of course I bought the slim version/model that had the manufacturers defect of the power cable not connecting fully with the console, thus slightly moving the console would cause it to power off. Fucking cocksuckers.

Visions of Mana. It was okay. I liked Trials more but that might be because of nostalgia. It was way more budget but fun from simpler times.

Before that, probably Dragon's Dogma 2. It was also okay. The core game isn't as good as the original but the "secret" ending was pretty cool with the new bosses and nightmare world stuff. It would be better if they had something like the big dragon boss or Bitterblack Isle from the first game.

I hate to admit it but Cyberpunk, and it was disappointing. I haven't played that shit in probably a year now, they've changed a ton of the gameplay and i don't have it in me to learn it... i wanna play that Workers and Resources Soviet Republic game, or Manor Lord.

Batman Arkham knight. 2014 or 2015 I think. I was a huge fan of the first two Arkham games so I marked out for it. I haven’t played it in a few years but it’s a pretty good game.

The only game I play nowadays is Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 but only because I can have it playing in the background while I work. Shit is fun
Roller Coaster Tycoon 2! I loved that, but as i look back on it i feel like most of my time was spent picking up the cleaners and dropping them to clean up vomit and trash lol.

I purchased Mass Effect 3 (2012) and Dead Space 3 (2013) right when they came out and they were both abysmal. Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance was in 2013 and the game still holds up well and is probably the newest game I own that I can still play. Everything else I play seems to be from 2010 or earlier or even from the 90s like Diablo II or Unreal Tournament.

Pretty much every old franchise is dead or produces mediocre or terrible games. And new games are designed for mobile fags and tiktok users. Gaming as an industry hasn't been geared towards adults or hardcore gamers since the Xbox 360 generation.

Looking forward to the new Doom game. Doom 2016 and Eternal were fantastic. Since the formula for the game is pretty simplistic: fight in arena and kill enemies for health, so hopefully they dont fuck it up.

I want to get excited for the new Bioshock game Judas but whenever I hear "multiple endings" it's always gimmicky bullshit. It's Bioshock but in space!, but definitely not System Shock!
