Shortly after Anth got fired, Lady Di called in to say her roommate Bill died. Opie gave a hyped up “Bill??!!?!!” while Jim’s response was “Bill died huh? oh wow”. This was maybe 2 weeks after. The second Anth was fired, Jim lost any zest for the show. Any character he did sounded more forced. Chip’s “Fawk yeah!” made you think Jim would start vomiting after doing it.

But that defeated, flat toned energy is still today and has been for years. Jim still hasn’t realized stand up and movies are beyond him. He’s bored on the show. But he hasn’t accepted this is the end.

Took a look at their YouTube channel and they've uploaded about 6 videos in the last year. Circling the drain, just like O&A in the last few years (except with way less relevance).

For a show that hasn't created any new content in 9 years, they do pretty big numbers on the yeeu-tewbs.

O&A archive contains a lot of culturally significant moments with notable and influential individuals. Just nobody knows or cares about it.

Still shocked faggot journalists have spent years trying to create stories on "the origin of the alt right" with O&A undetected right under their noses. Opie will smartly distance himself from it now, but he was usually right there with Ant criticizing the nigs and the women accurately. Can someone explain to me (retarded, asperger's, down syndrome, tiny penis) why they continue to hold the show then? They do this with a lot of garbage too. Yeah, maybe it doesn't cost too much to upkeep, but certainly the opportunity cost of not having something popular in that slot/channel would be reason to can it? It's been around for half a decade and no one's listening.

I know Netflix has a business model that's almost exclusively based upon getting new feet in the door and those people forgetting about their subscriptions for months, even years. I'd think SiriusXM probably works similarly, but usually those new carrots Netflix dangles are promising some big actors or writers attached to them. Nobody knows who the fuck Sam Roberts is, and for a D lister like Jim they could hire anyone new without years of legacy salary to honor.

How's Sirius doing anyway? People under 40 have podcasts/youtube/steaming for their cars or businesses, and people over 60 still use terrestrial and CDs and shit. I can't imagine the people willing to pay for music they didn't choose is a large pool, and I'm not aware of any of their shows that have a big audience. The trash most boomers listen to radio for, sports, is already free on terrestrial in most cities.

I don’t think there’s too many people in entertainment who still want to do radio when they can potentially make more money doing a podcast on their own terms without having to live near the Sirius studio. So I think jim and sam staying is more because Sirius doesn’t have a replacement for them yet. Like others here have said though, Sam will stay no matter what. But I’m curious to see who Jim’s replacement will be since it seems like Sam isn’t that close with any of the comics anymore.
