True Detective season four

I liked a lot of season 2. If they would've ditched the girl and gay marine it would've been a lot better but Farrell and Vaughn did a great job.

Season 3 I remember nothing about. Good nor bad. Season 2 I've gone back to several times despite its shitty moments. Season 3 I remember the Indian guy going ape shit and that's it.

Season 4 is gonna be that stephen king book insomnia.

Maybe it was mediocre but it was definitely memorable. There's no scene from Season 3 I remember.

I might rewatch it soon for Colin Farrell's character (whose name makes you think of retards' shoes) alone.

Completely agree. I loved season 2. Not even going to bother with this new season because I'm sick of turning on everything I once loved.

Season 2 was good. Like op said, I can't remember much about season 3 except the black guy had alzheimers, so maybe it's fitting. Remember thinking Dorff was good in it too. Some kid went missing. Vague tie-in to season 1. That's it.

I loved rays relationship with his fat ginger faggot of a son. He loved him so much but didn't know how to relate to him at all. He's a true fuck up in that he just can't help himself. The montage of him spiraling doing blow and drinking after losing custody is one of the best moments of the season.

When season 2 first came out I thought it sucked and I couldn't get into it at all. The fact it had Vince vaughn took me out of the show and I couldn't take it seriously.

Now though, I think I like season 2 more than season 1. Vince Vaughn's preformance is amazing and I love Farrell's character. It had a fantastic story and it was very original, I'm glad they didnt take anything with them from season 1. It was good for its own unique reasons.

Season 3 was forgettable though and I don't think I'll ever change my opinion on it like I did season 2. It was not absolutely terrible but it just did not have the impact that seasons 1 and 2 did and it felt more like a netflix crime series than a season of true detective

Season one is a hugely plagiarized script. All of the crazy Rust dialog was ripped from other writers down to the word. Even his ending speech was stolen word for word from some comic book. Season is still good but the main creator Nick Pizzolatto has done nothing at all since that first season because he has no talent on his own. So without being able to steal from other writers his other stories are forgettable or mediocre. This will likely be the only good season of True Detective but because it was all plagiarized hurts its standing as a classic.

Season two has a token fag character for no reason at all. And the main characters, the cops and criminals, behave in pretty much suicidal ways that result in nearly all of them dying. Big plot twist of the kids getting revenge over their parents was extremely lame. The acting of Colin Farrel basically carries the entire season. Vince Vaughn's part could have been played by Will Farrel and it would have been just as ridiculous. Horrendous casting with him as some mafia villain. Guy is 6'7" but midget Joe Pesci is more ferocious in Casino and Goodfellas.

Season three? It was like a remake of season one without any of the good acting and dialog. The constant jumping through time also was obnoxious. The idea was neat....a detective has dementia and tries to remember an old case and you remember along with him in the flashbacks. But the execution was poor. This season is almost unwatchable again once you know the twists and ending.

Season four? Big time casting with Agent Starling as the lead. Premise has been done a million times before. The Thing, Event Horizon, The Head (on HBO Max), AvP1. A team of detectives or investigators search for missing people in some remote area. This will likely either be some of the worst television ever or some miracle of God and on Silence of the Lambs level.

But other than that he was pretty much toothless and incompetent. Just like Colin Farrel beat that dude whose son supposedly bullied his kid but was otherwise a moron as well. If you watch the show closely there is no proof that that kid even bullied his kid. I saw some discussion of TD season two when it came out that people thought that the kid was innocent and Ray just beats his father because he is not a good detective and lets his emotions control him.

The ending was great. That the main character goes through his entire life, detective, father, husband. But all he remembers at his old age is Vietnam and being in the jungle. But it is a long journey to get to that ending. And they clearly took that ending from Boardwalk Empire as well. Where one of the main characters dies and has a war flashback as his last moments.
