When the French talk about filet mignon they mean the pork tenderloin. Never understood why Americans took it for beef. Love me some tenderloin medallions in port and cream mushroom sauce. Also a much cheaper cut - the scotch fillet or collar butt - is amazing and versatile. Make char siu with it or cut it into steaks and grill them on the barbecue in a garlic and herb marinade. Delicious. Bacon, sausage. Pork is the best.
Meh, I prefer scrambled eggs.

Carnitas. It’s delicious and super easy to make in a slow cooker or instant pot. Then you pull it and finish with a couple minutes under the broiler dot crisp it up.

use it to make tacos, burritos, or rice bowls

how'd it go...
it's currently in the smoker, two different ones cause they were on sale so bone and all (boston butt was on sale not pork shoulder) it's like 7lbs of pork in there right now probably after i trimmed the fat, cost about $18 so not bad. We aren't having people over until sunday afternoon so I've got all day and this evening to let it go

Did he really? I never saw anything about that. Fuck him if he did.

He's not a trained chef more of a Martha Stewart type
He is a trained chef - he was an apprentice at Hugh Hyphen-Hyphen's River Cottage restaurant. They were making a TV show there, he did his chirpy Cockney horseshit, and they liked his TV persona enough to put him in his own show.

You're right about his skills, though, I've heard professional chefs go off about his shitty food and palate.

Also, he tried redoing school lunches in the US, and not only did it go over budget and the kids hated the food:

The reality behind "Food Revolution" is that after the first two months of the new meals, children were overwhelmingly unhappy with the food, milk consumption plummeted and many students dropped out of the school lunch program, which one school official called "staggering." On top of that food costs were way over budget, the school district was saddled with other unmanageable expenses, and Jamie's failure to meet nutritional guidelines had school officials worried they would lose federal funding and the state department of education would intervene.

...but the school did lose funding as his meals were less nutritious than the fried garbage they used to sell. Weirdly, most of those stories seem to have disappeared....

Sounds more likely that the guidelines are bullshit. They said kids stopped drinking milk because it wasn't flavored milk. So a chocolate milk is a positive health gain since it's milk, never mind the sugar content. I'd bet it was the same with the food. Fries probably count as potatoes, pizza counts as eating a tomato, etc.

I'm pretty sure if someone brought-up grilling he'd have some 'expert take' on it, despite there being no evidence f him ever actually doing it
He has that stupid charcoal grill he leaves uncovered at all times like his gay bikes.

I bet he only uses it to grill hotdogs and he doesn't scrape it after he's done.

His food is probably always burnt like Joe Cumia's atrocious barbecues
