He made the Brexit joke in the same mangled "what has two-thumbs" format two years ago.
We know patrick has a very narrow view of what counts as political writing, thats limited to tabloid talking points he stole from twitter, but he probably thinks cramming a 1984 reference in is an appropriately genius literary allusion. Who cares if 1984 came out fucking 80 years after dickens died, and is completely irrelevant, it shows what a geeky, writerly, politcal, tech-savvy science guy patrick is because it is a well known book that alludes to some entry level modern political concepts and has a pointless link to an apple product from 40 years ago.
His creative decisions irritate the shit out of me. Every single idea he has is in service to him as what he thinks makes a brilliant author instead of just being suitable for whatever hes working on. It wouldn't even be so bad if he just shut the fuck up and wrote his dumb books instead of trying to get asspats for every idiotic minor thought he has. Fat fucking cretin.

It’s why he makes characters gay and or trans for no reason. He shoves a black gay military character but what does him being gay have to do with the story? Does it add anything to the character? No! But look, I have a black guy who is also gay! Praise me!

He def has 1-2 gay or trans characters in this nonsense since that was so common back in Dickens times. Even when he describes his work it’s all “it has all this CRAZY stuff in it!” Instead of a creative idea.

What he really needs is that app that blocks the internet for an allotted time of the day that is specifically for writers, but that would be as effective as putting parental blocks on yourself for porn. Plus, pat needs google to research for his upcoming very serious historical fiction novel.
