"He was both, atalker. First one, and then later the other"

Hmm...

"Navigators and bombardiers were often men who had, at some point, failed the training to become a pilot.

(...) If you are talking about these crewmembers upgrading to train to become pilots, that was extremely unlikely. There are a very few cases of men who served on bombers early in the war who turned around and pushed to get into pilot training. But most men who survived the tour of missions were happy to get out of combat."

I'm pretty sure there's a massive difference in skillsets between a gunner and a pilot, and even the desperate Japanese would've preferred purposely-trained pilots over elevating guys who just happened to be aboard airplanes.

The rest of the story doesn't make any sense either. The guy knew they started the war, went home and REBELLED... and then signed on to become a fighter pilot? Fat Rick says that he piloted a zero 'before the end of the war'. That can't have been in late 1944 or 1945, because it was all just kamikazes by then. How long did he serve as gunner? Because six months after Pearl Harbor, Midway happened with the exact same Jap aircraft carriers and flight crew that attacked Hawaii. Four of the six were sunk and at least a quarter of the air personnel.

So this guy was either conveniently discharged before Midway, or he fought through it and survived and personally witnessed one of the most crushing naval defeats in history, the deaths of countless of his countrymen and buddies, the wiping out of any hope of Japanese victory... and later on he decided he wanted to go back into the action?

Even given how much Nips love killing themselves, this seems a bit farfetched.

Now I want to rewrite The Art Of War entirely as The Art Of Rape.

Let your plans be dark and impenetrable as night, and when you move, fall like a thunderbolt.

Hmmm guess it's ok as is.
If your opponent is of choleric temper, seek to hold them down and sexually assault them

editor's note: it is generally easier to hold down a woman than a man
