My wife's grandpa once told me he was supposed to be a kamikaze pilot when he was 13 because they were running out of people but, thankfully, the war ended before that happened. He went on to be a bank manager, spoke zero English and died in 2008. The idea Pat was just having a really cogent conversation in English with some guy who actually flew planes as a legit pilot sounds just a little unlikely.
