I sometimes wonder what it is about that site that makes the userbase so uniquely hateable.

It's a new kind of stupidity, one only possible in the 21st century.
It's hard for me to hate some 80 IQ Appalachian or even a nog for being stupid. It's like hating an animal, what did you expect?
Redditors are like 95-105 IQ urbanites who were tuned into society and media. They more or less have been given the tools to become enlightened, humble individuals who appreciate their positions and hunger for more knowledge. I cannot thank Uncle Ted enough for the term "oversocialized," because it describes them perfectly. They took all their hard learning and resources and selectively misinterpret or control information so they can one-up each other with social credit points, even at the expense of their own standing or satisfaction. They look at shit like black crime or post-vax deaths and go "ERM, AKSHUALLY-" in this new brand of the Scientific Method wherein you start with a hypothesis and look exclusively for information to prove that hypothesis. They're largely miserable, serially addicted to consoomer culture, weed, caffeine, porn, sugar, and all the other modern poisons, but try to convince themselves they live in the best places in the world at the best time in history because they're not emotionally evolved enough to handle any hardship or change. They praise themselves for their tolerance towards the specific laundry list groups then vent their anger and vitriol toward the preapproved targets of white men. They all claim to be socialist or anti-big pharma or whatever, when in reality they absolutely love sucking establishment cock and just resent that they're poor.

It's embodied willful ignorance. The site is homogenous because they've banned anyone who doesn't think that way. I shit you not, quite literally like 85 of the top 100 subs have trannies on the mod teams. I saw someone on 4chan say "Redditors are one negative thought away from suicide," and I think that perfectly summarizes the sheer rigid, policed, phoniness of the tone of the site. I hope this retarded new shit with the ads starts its downfall or whatever.

I sometimes wonder what it is about that site that makes the userbase so uniquely hateable. You'd think a site with a userbase that big would be diverse enough to where they wouldn't really have a distinct characteristic but it's like 90% of the people there are grown on farms to have the exact same personality - snarky, know it all, woke etc.

How to become a millionaire in tech:

The 'trick' is to create a platform. Basically you want your users to work for you for free, and then you collect a few pennies off of the free work they're doing. Zuckerberg makes money off of Boomers posting pics of their kids, eBay makes money off of people selling their crap, so does Amazon. Google is the ultimate manifestation of this, they "monetized" the entirety of the Internet.

Since both the users and the jannies on Reddit do it all for free, Reddit is basically beholden to their free work. In particular, nobody with a wife and kids and a social life is interested in being a Jannie for a popular sub.
Sure, there's the occasional dude who runs a subreddit devoted to a radio show that hasn't existed in a decade, but that's a relatively straightforward job. There isn't a ton of traffic.

But if you're the jannie of worldnews or POLITICS, forget about it, that's basically a full time job.
And since it is, the type of person who's willing to work full time for free is going to be on one of two spectrums:

1) One type of Jannie is perpetually broke, possibly living with their parents at the age of 45. This is the Jannie who's read Das Kapital three times and who thinks that if they scream loud enough and long enough, surely Capitalism will end

2) The other type of Jannie isn't a whole lot different, they just have rich parents. I knew a couple like this, a few years back. Their parents paid for everything and due to this they had no motivation to do anything. At the same time, they had a bitter resentment towards their peers, because they were still on their parent's leash. Something as basic as going to see a movie was a hardship for them, because they didn't have a job. Their wealthy parents paid for the basics of life (house was paid off, neighborhood was nice) but they didn't even own a car. They were basically trapped in a prison of their own creation.

Neither one of these types are "well adjusted" but they have piles of time to waste on moderating Reddit forums, and putting the screws to people gives them a lot of satisfaction.

The only alternative would be to hire people to be jannies, but that would break the entire model of Reddit, which is getting people to work for free, just like Facebook / Google / eBay / Amazon / etc.

Reddit is really only useful to me for one thing. If I’m trying to research something, I just type what it is plus “Reddit” on Google and I’ll usually find the answers I’m looking for. It’s usually tech-related stuff for me, but even for non-tech stuff I will give Reddit credit for being a great source of tips and information. You obviously can’t just trust what anyone says just because it’s the top comment, but it’s almost always a step in the right direction and I like it for that.

But if you browse through it aimlessly, especially through mindless subs like askreddit and news subs, you’re just a midwit faggot.

/r/NYguns has actually helped me a ton. Getting a concealed carry license in NYS and NYC is next to impossible if you don’t know what to do, but there are a ton of people on there who have been through the whole process and tell you exactly what you need to do in order to get one. Certainly helped me. Not to mention there’s a ton of fawkin based anti-kike/Democrat/Republican folks on there.

Yeah I agree. I can't tell you how many times that has saved me from FAGGOT forums where someone asks a question then it says "Edit: figured it out" with ZERO explanation of what they did.

It's mindboggling how NYC requires you to, after finding a gun you wanna purchase, apply for that specific gun and get it approved first before you actually make the purchase. I may not be 100% correct there but it's something like that. Talk about retarded.

Yup. You have to apply for an amendment to add the pistol to your license, and it costs money every time. I don’t live in NYC so I need not only my NYS license but also an NYC “Special Carry” which is for out of city NY residents. For both the NYS and NYC license I need to amend to add any new pistol to my license.

Funny thing is I can add any number of pistols to my state license, but the NYC special carry is limited to two only. If you want to add more to the NYC license you need to apply for a second one. The absurdity is almost hilarious.

Many of the autists on nyguns have active lawsuits in the works challenging these dumbass laws which were all passed in retaliation to the Bruen SCOTUS decision last year which effectively made all of NY “shall-issue.”
