Yes please continue to watch great American invented sports where there is an extreme amount of rules bloat, black worship, and 2 hours of commercials interrupted with 4 or 5 minutes of gameplay. Perhaps baseball is more your speed where the 2 teams barely interact with each other and the amount of jewelry each player wears is obscene because baseball is barely a sport. There's a artificial vibe around most US soccer fans although I think as time goes on that will change. It's already in average having 22k fans at per game in the MLS and that's for pretty low level quality with most those people also having European sides they follow.


The last world cup in the US was in 1994 and it's massively bigger in the US compared to then. 2026 world cup will just grow it even more.

It's also clear that the fanbases of these sports have radically changed. When MLB started taking more teams into the playoffs at first everyone mostly hated it. Now you have people who want half of the teams getting into the playoffs. Let's play 162 games and only eliminate half of the field and give even more barely .500 teams a chance to win.

The owners would never allow it but US sports would be dramatically improved by having promotion and relegation between different leagues. Those collage sides that get 100k having a legit chance to play in the big leagues etc. shitty sides go down and the money is hit rather than just being shite forever. I know someone who just set up a new football club. It's about 10 leagues below the premier league and has a few hundred people who watch every week but technically it could rise through the leagues.

The closed shop in the US system was tried to be brought in during Covid and it caused a bigger protest than most anti lockdown protests. Fans broke into a stadium with a behind closed doors game going on and got the game abandoned they were so angry about it and these were the clubs who would benefit from it.
