- Mr. Tomlinson's feud started after members of the now-defunct Reddit site r/opieandanthony got his Twitter account suspended, causing him to threaten some bored trolls who never heard of him with a libel lawsuit. The trolls responded predictably.
- Mr. Tomlinson has been instructed many times by friends, family, police, and attorneys to stop engaging with his trolls, and that continuing to provoke them will cause him to be trolled even more. Mr. Tomlinson wilfully ignores this advice
- He would eventually file a defamation suit against 60 anonymous people which was dismissed with Mr. Tomlinson being ordered to pay $34,762.25 for opposing parties' attorney fees.
- He ended up paying $83,736.99 due to his unsuccessful attempts to dodge the court-ordered judgement, for which he faced jail time and contempt charges.
- He also filed 2 frivolous restraining orders against people who had engaged in First Amendment-protected behavior (one for texting him and another for attending his contempt of court hearing), both of which were dismissed.
- Early on in the lawsuit, Mr. Tomlinson vandalized his own motorcycle and submitted a false police report blaming the people he was suing.
- He accidentally sent surveillance video of the alleged vandal (himself) to a troll.
- Mr. Tomlinson has never shown this video footage during any of his media tours, and desperately tries to scrub it from the internet.
- Mr. Tomlinson claims that the surveillance video was initiated by his "motion-activated" camera, which only collects "30 seconds at a time", despite the video being 32 seconds long and beginning several seconds before the "vandal" enters into the frame.
- On 13 April 2023, the individual responsible for calling the fake emergencies (SWATs) to Mr. Tomlinson's house, a SWAT-for-hire dealer named "Torswats", revealed that Mr. Tomlinson ordered the SWATs to his own house because he wanted to get in the news and sue the MPD for money.
- Torswats would repeat these allegations in private chats which were not intended for public view.
- Mr. Tomlinson has gone on multiple news tours since the SWATtings started in order to promote his victimhood brand, utilizing the services of Lenora Claire.
- He also recently sued the MPD for money.
- An individual from Lawrenceville, GA recently tried to cast doubt on Mr. Tomlinson's self-swatting by hiring a hitman to kill him and framing the forum

I'm guessing a certified check is the same as a cashier's check.
You can't cancel or have insufficient funding for a cashier's check because the bank makes sure you can cover it before issuing it. It's what you would ask for when doing a private sale of a car to some random guy off of Craigslist, not to email a fucking PDF.
This is a total scam. I'm surprised she didn't ask for Best Buy gift cards.

I did some quick googling and it seems that there are freelance court reporters. I don't know what her gig is, but even if that is so - it's not her info to sell. She has presumably already been paid for her work, either as a gov't employee or a freelancer.
edit: Oh, I just saw that she does have a wicourts.gov e-mail address. So, I wonder if she is an employee after all. Then again we sometimes give <company>.com e-mail addresses to interns, consultants and contractors where I am.
Court reporters have all sorts of arrangements and scams. They take advantage of how wacky the judicial system is. I think we may have to crowdfund this one, boys. I do NOT think it’s a good idea to piss off a CR. She could easily be some judge’s uncle’s wife. Milwaukee is a small town.

Even if she is a freelancer, I would imagine that there are constraints on what she can charge. It's possible that Patrick conducted himself in a manner that was so incredibly deranged, and mentioned a "large internet following" that caused the reporter to do some googling, and she discovered that there are some 5 sink individuals looking to cover the story.
I’ve had to hire court reporters at work to do depositions and stuff and that’s about what we pay for a whole day of transcribing and the PDFs
She should definitely get paid, but is it Dan's responsibility to pay her for a full day's work? This hearing couldn't have taken longer than 10 minutes.
