I think that's because Chris Elliott knew the show was on borrowed time so he just said, "fuck it." What made the show funny to me (and especially my father) was that Elliott was a 30 year old paperboy living with his parents- which was the same situation as our paperboy (more like paperman, amirite) when I was growing up. This show was great and truly went out with a bang once they knew it wasn't going to be renewed.
It's kind of hard to believe that Get A Life actually aired on network TV, in prime time, on Sunday nights no less. And it just kept getting progressively weirder as it went along.I think that's because Chris Elliott knew the show was on borrowed time so he just said, "fuck it." People still remember Xena and Hercules but how come no one ever talk about that dope Robin Hood show?
