Beavis and Butt-Head is a much easier formula to maintain than King of the Hill. The fact that the voices for both Luanne and Lucky are dead and that the voice of Kahn is a white actor creates some major hurdles right from the hop -- sure they can be hand-waved away with "they moved", but if that's the route were going, what's the point? Combine that with the roughly 0.5% success rate of re-booting dormant franchises, particularly ones that play off the cultural zeitgeist, and I don't think there's a very good chance they pull it off. After the Beavis and Butt-Head new season I'm all in with a new King of the Hill to be honest wit chu.
I love Mike Judge, but unless he has a substantial point to make about modern America that requires these characters and not just a few half baked, "whoa, what do you think Hank and the gang would have to say about [modern event]", I think it will either fall by the wayside unfinished or come out a massive, potentially legacy tainting, disappointment.
