Nice terrifying death at the bottom of the sea stupid.
It's titanium on the outside. The interiors are carbon fiber. It has no tether and allegedly no homing beacon as well. When you dive to those depths you can't be tied to the boat because you can get tangled on the line. Lots of divers have tried to break records while diving connected to lines and gotten tangled in the ropes and have perished. So imagine getting a submarine tangled into a giant steel chain and trying to break free at thousands of feet of pitch black water. It bills the trip on its carbon-fibre submersible as a "chance to step outside of everyday life and discover something truly extraordinary"

Rumors are that this company was offering people the ability to not just view the Titanic from the outside. But that they were maneuvering the submarine into the actual wreckage. Illegally. Which is a hazard and risks destroying the ship even more than it already is. The word going around the boating industry is that they might have drive the sub into the Titanic wreckage and gotten hooked into the wreck somehow.
There were also rumors that this submarine had issues on another dive and didn't automatically surface and had to be manually piloted to the surface. And when it surfaced it was far away from the mothership and had no way of communicating where they were. And they needed other ships and planes to find them.I read that the sub will auto-surface at the first sign of any technological issues. So, safe to say that sub is a goner.
Fucking brutal. I always get anxious just thinking about being buried alive but this is even worse. There were also rumors that this submarine had issues on another dive and didn't automatically surface and had to be manually piloted to the surface. Worse is that the sub is sealed from the outside can't be opened from the inside for safety reasons. So if they surface somewhere and aren't found in a day or two they will suffocate whilst floating on the surface. As they can't open any hatches to let in more air.
man that's one hell of a submersibleThere were also rumors that this submarine had issues on another dive and didn't automatically surface and had to be manually piloted to the surface. Robert Ballard is a genius. He had all these ideas for finding old wrecks using his own technology and tools, but the stuff was insanely costly. He told the military that if they paid for his technology, he would loan it to them to search for old subs and ships as long as he could use it for the Titanic search. The Navy literally gave him his own fleet temporarily and it allowed him to find the Titanic using the various machines once they had found the old subs that had gone down.Ballard who found the Titanic was hired to go look for this one prior by the Navy.
Yeah he's done a lot of talks about how the Thresher and the Scorpion wreck hunts were the only reason he even found the Titanic since he looked for the debris field.Robert Ballard is a genius. No, they didn't dispatch Captain OrbaniThe US Navy has dispatched captain Orbani to handle the situation. It's under control.
What? Am I two miles under the sea? No. Hahaha I'm not two miles under the sea!No, they didn't dispatch Captain Orbani
They wanted to see the Titanic. What they actually saw.......was Davey Jones' Locker.
