I was. I traded for ECW, Japanese stuff and old WWF shows. I had things like fan made vhs compilations of Road Warriors matches and promos, the Bobby Heenan show and compilations of Sabu in Japan in addition to tapes of WWF satellite feeds with all of the uncut promo takes left in. I had stacks of tapes but lost most in moves. I was mostly watching this stuff when I did homework as a kid through college or watching with friends if nothing was happening that day. Old Saturday Night’s Main Events and Prime Time Wrestling were mostly put on when winding down for the night in high school and college as it was comfort television. Enough of my dork nonsense.

Cornette’s insight into the early tape trading scene is great, but not as compelling as Howard Finkel’s porn archives.
