There’s a pretty big difference. The Dems will use all of their power to push their agenda and policies regardless of what anybody actually thinks, and they do it in lockstep. The Republicans don’t have that. They just don’t, and even when they had the House, Senate, and Presidency, they didn’t do much with it.

More than a dark money propaganda machine it’s about having a consistent platform. Let the illegals in. Let the gays marry. More regulations and higher taxes. And virtually no Democrat disagrees with this.

I hate to burst the bubble but RFK is taking more votes from Trump than Biden. Who has more overlap here? RFK / Biden or RFK / Trump? RFK is not a more liberal Biden, he’s a more conservative one. The main problem people have with Biden is he’s a centrist and not enough of a lefty, so why would they pick an even bigger centrist candidate? RFK is out spoken about anti-vax and the deep state which Trump ran and failed to deliver on.

I think I do because I don’t understand the emphasis on “people”. I mean I think about the entire position of the Whip in the House. Their job is to literally run around like a little monkey making sure their party votes on what they want. There's no reason we can't pull out of our "obligations" to Europe and become completely independent in terms of manufacturing, farming, defense spending, and energy. Its not just you, people just keep telling me this and it the numbers don’t add up. Democrats overwhelmingly support Biden as the front runner. And can you blame them? Their other two choices are Strokey Mctracheotomy and a crazy woman. Historically when the incumbent President has wanted to run for office they are essentially gifted it by their party, since at least Teddy Roosevelt when he lost the RNC nomination to Taft in 1912. But I truly think if the Dems had someone, ANYBODY else to face Biden he wouldn’t get the nom. But they don’t so now their voting base has to rally behind what they got.

I don’t disagree with a lot of what you said, but how is being supportive of less regulation simply a contrarian position to the DNC? Republicans have always been on record for less regulation. It’s not contrarian, it’s a core tenet of the underlying classical economic theory (just like Keynesian econ is the underlier for the DNC).

Not that I’m in disagreement though. The republicans seem to never do anything in the end. Trump cut taxes, took down some regulations, but whined every day online for 4 years and then printed zillions and now we’re saddled with inflation and an administration that is cramming policy down like they know they’re going to lose.

I disagree on RFK. In fact, if the GOP was smart, which they aren’t, they would be focusing on the next iteration of the party, which needs to be centered around DINO disrupters who force liberals to think critically about their elected officials, which doesn’t happen now (Fetterman as an example).

Biden isn’t polling particularly well within his own party and they’re worried because he’s basically even with Trump, a guy who already has one loss to Joe B plus like 10 indictments. And Biden the guy may be a centrist but he signs whatever they put in front of him so he might as well be AOC or Newsome.

I’m with you though, it’d be nice if the Republicans could win enough to start putting actual policy to make the country more conservative but that’s not happening anytime soon.
