It’s going to be even more milk from our heifer when he gets back to LI. He will be relentless in his mooing and bitching, while also bragging about how GOOD it feels to be BACK HOME
A few months after he's back, it will morph into romanticizing and bragging about his international travel and performances

* Back in the USA
He’s learning that song now and will play it for people to whom he’ll need explain that he was outside of the USA for a few months. None of them will care so he’ll have to egg them on. “European audiences are so much more receptive to dire straits covers”. Sorry Joe, still don’t care, can you turn it down so I can hear my wife’s bitching?

This is total bullshit. The world is full of excellent musicians and entertainers who don't radiate low class degenerate energy like Joe.

It is actually very difficult to understand how he got the gig. You'd think they check people's social media profiles before hiring these days. Anger, extreme politics, posting under his daughters name, general retardation. OOOOH AAAAH. He's a walking red flag. Why the fuck did they hire this tactless boomer-american in faded worn-out SAMCRO hoodie?
If there were 50 Joes who wanted these gigs they all could have been hired. The low pay and shitty work environment make these gigs hard to fill. I remember the recruiter who used to come to colleges to find cruise ship workers was paid for signing people up and would even give referral fees to anyone who helped him find people willing to take the job.

I hope someone with the autism and a facebook account can put his posts about this gig in order so we can see go down hill. From " Solo Joe European Tour! " all the way to the end where he will say he is above doing these types of gigs.
Joes self intro when he gets back

Now I love mocking joes buffoonish bad decisions but people laughing about his low pay and having a bigger bill than money he made are forgetting a few things

1) his dental implant didn't fall out because he was there, Joe is an idiot who put off getting replaced and it would have broken even if he was at home

2) you're taking Joe's claims of making more at home with fewer gigs at face value. He'd post about 2 gigs a month and even on his calendar on his website he'd have 1-2 private parties in a weekend and the rest of the month nothing. He's not making 11 grand busking at home in 4 months so he's still further ahead than he would have been

3 the room and board, shabby as it is, adds value. That's still money carol doesn't have to spend feeding the talking livestock she calls a husband and less utility usage on his endless noise pollution creating Chinese shit collection

When he does get back, we will all have to ignore his descriptions and bragging and just tell him how sorry we are that he had to go through this. Since we all know a 19 year old loser or 2 who couldn't find a job and had to take this type of work for a summer. Glad the old cow got through it in one piece (2 if you count his teeth) and hope he never finds himself in such desperate need again. A shit job like that could kill a guy Joe's age.

Wed. May 8:

I decided to utilize my down time (there’s plenty) to write a few pages about what it’s like to be a guitarist/singer and a crew member working aboard a commercial cruise ship. I’m figuring that most of my musician friends and acquaintances will not be experiencing 4 months of being away from home, friends and loved ones while living on a ship entertaining thousands of guests/week while isolated in the North Atlantic somewhere off the coast of Europe.
OKay Joe, do you understand WHY none of your friends will be experiencing this awful experience? Probably because everyone in the world knows it is just a shit job for low pay and barely suitable for an unemployed 18 year old.

The Accommodations:

The cabin that “the help” (that’s me) are given, are nothing like the cabins you acquire on a pleasure cruise.
Good ol' self depreciating Joe. Plus, look up the word 'acquire'
They’re small, no windows, very dusty if you leave the ventilation ducts “untaped” (I did this after discovering serious dust buildup after only a day or so). Bad for the respiratory system. I was wondering where a nasty allergic response (itchy watery eyes, nose and throat) were coming from. Problem #1 solved!

Gee it is almost as if they treat their stars how chinese restaurants treat their employees. They must be trying to impress him so he'll come back with his band and his wife.
The travel:

It’s been spectacular. I probably would never have seen the invasion beaches of WWII, ancient cities of Spain, landmark destination locations in France, Norwegian fjords and countless beautiful (and some not so beautiful) hours at sea. If I take away nothing else, I’m being afforded an opportunity to do and see things that I would likely never have seen/done otherwise. This makes a one time contractual commitment worth the price of admission.

No it doesn't and no it isn't. You got 2 hours to wander around places you barely knew existed, by yourself, with no money. It's like you got to experience homelessness in cities where you didn't understand the language.

When my parents hit 60, they and their friends figured out ways to get cheap cruises everywhere in the world. They'd do 2 or 3 a year, off season with senior and group discounts. I remember they did a full alaska cruise for 2 weeks and it cost them less than $1000.

Even in 2024, you can get Bahama cruises that will cost you $35/ night. So the crowing about "once in a lifetime experience" is fucking sad when any retired person in the world can hop on a cruise as a guest and enjoy the experience, even use the casino if they want.
The Work:

Basically, I perform in a high end restaurant. I’m in the Bar area which is separate from where the diners eat. There are comfy couches and chairs. The room really is set up well for a solo performer. Awesome sound. A ground level stage next to a baby grand piano is where I play nightly. Plug in and go…!
We've seen where you perform, and it is not anything like a high end restaurant, it is more like a hallway between a bar and a bathroom.
The crowds:

I entertain nearly all Brits (3600 of them every week) that we pick up at Southampton UK (incidentally, the same port from which most of our USA bound, defecting ancestors journeyed to the States) and they’re pretty enthusiastic where live music is concerned. Tons of requests and dedications. More compliments and kudos in one show than 10 at home. They’re particularly fond of watching a Yankee Doodle dandy play Brit artist songs note for note. Dire Straits is HUGE here. Mark Knopfler is a tremendous influence for most of the guitarists I’ve spoken with after shows. I play a shit-ton of Beatles, Stones, Animals, Kinks, Pink Floyd, Who…etc. and they LOVE it.

A sad and pathetic cope. It is like he forgot he posted video of himself playing Dire Straits to an unattentive deaf couple. Guessing the ages of the guests, I would bet they'd prefer to see an elvis impersonator.
The downside:

The amount of work is not for hobbyists. In fact, it’s really not for most of the pro’s I know. The 3-45min sets I play every day (I’ve had one night off since I joined the ship 6 weeks ago) are only separated by 2-15min breaks, which I never take. The reason? Because it hurts the hands and the vocal cords more when you allow yourself to cool down and start up again. It also lets the crowd think about getting up and leaving. I came here wanting to make a huge impression so my agent has some ammo if and when contract discussions come up. I’ve had full, if not nearly full, houses for every show since beginning. I’m told by most of the audience members that they’re giving me glowing reviews on their review cards at cruise end. So, As I said, It’s not a job for the faint of heart. It takes extraordinary stamina, lots of water, sleep and taking care of your physical/mental health to complete 4 months of this type of work. Very demanding. No room for prima Donna’s here.

Sweet jesus this is the biggest load of crap I've ever seen. "Not for hobbyists" "cool down" (this is why mick jagger doesn't take a set break I guess?) "contract discussions" "full houses" "glowing reviews" none of this even makes sense it is so untrue that it would take an hour to unravel the lies and stupidity. I will bet that there is no review card that mentions the guy in the hall playing beatles tunes.
The $$:

Without getting into specifics, if you’re a good player with a decent voice/large repertoire and know how to be an ENTERTAINER, you’d do well, but you’d probably do better on dry land. I was playing average 3x 3hr gigs/week at home and making approx the same $$ I do for playing 7x 3hr gig/week on the ship. There are other mitigating perks that enter the equation…Free meals, no rent, a ton of travel, advancement with the company, medical benefits etc… but these things are really best suited to younger, freer folk. Basically, I’m one of the “unicorns” that Princess (and other lines) are always on the lookout for. While younger musicians have the freedom and stamina to pull off a 4-9 month contract at this pace, they generally don’t know how to entertain 50-80 yr olds, and older! To be proficient at entertaining the principle demographic on most cruise ships, you really need to BE part the principle demographic. It’s gotta be in your DNA. Most guys in their 60’s (that I know) while perfectly qualified, would not be a good fit for the lifestyle. Therein lies the rub... I got this job because they knew after viewing my demo, that I’d be a great fit musically. That makes me one of the rare few “unicorns” that they’re looking for all the time. As with many things, I wish I were 25 again and knew everything I know now. 65 is still young enough to do it physically, but the extenuating circumstances usually makes it difficult for the average weekend warrior to commit to a contract.

He's not an entertainer, hes background noise. He does have a decent voice / large juke box, I guess so he wins this round.

This fucking situation barely qualifies as a job, shit pay, away from home for 4 months, no networking opportunities, it was a desperate move by a broke imbecile. Stop calling your busking "gigs" they aren't gigs, your job is to fill a hallway with background noise so old people feel like they are being entertained every minute of every day. The same way that guy with the mop is paid to make sure the hallway is clean after every meal.

Funny story, old people see enough old people every day, if they could have found a 25 year old lounge singer willing to take this job they would toss the old cow overboard. The fact that he refuses to admit he got this job because nobody in their right mind wanted it annoys me. The cruise line is so desperate to find people to do these shit jobs that the recruiters get paid more than the people they hire. There is no competition, no demo needed to be approved, just one dummy willing to take the gig.

My future re: cruise work…

It’s going to take (no pun) a BOATLOAD more $$, much better living quarters (WINDOW PLEASE), a shorter contract term (closer to home) and for my beautiful wife-to-be and my Daughter to once again be as accommodating and supportive as they’ve been this time, for me to sign on for another trip. It’s been an education folks. Learning, that’s what life is for!! Until next time! See you all back in the USA when I return to a full performance calendar this July 21st. Coincidentally, (or maybe cosmically on purpose) I’ll be back home with the ones I love on my 65th birthday. Cheers USA!! 🇺🇸 J
None of that is going to happen, the job Joe qualifies for is the job he got and the terms will not get better in the future. THey may, if the cruise doesn't sell out, offer him a nicer room, but in order to take the room he will need to take a cut in pay. He got THIS gig because it was such a shit offering that anyone could take it. The things he claims he'll ask for will go to better entertainers with actual agents.

An interesting aside: up to this point, I don't think Joe has mentioned a single other person, meaning that after all this time, Joe hasn't managed to befriend a single person on that broken down barnacle barge. No fellow musicians, no coworkers, no crew members, no passengers, no one at all. Every photo is either Joe mooing in front of something or something he's doing in his sad cabin, all alone. Joe's hilarious inability to find or keep friends, for the most part, explains why he's still a pitiful amateur guitar hobbyist as opposed to being part of a functional band.

I wonder how many people he's actively annoyed with his showboating bovine antics. I bet it's quite a few by now. The rest of the musicians on board gather every night for some drinks in some employee hangout spot, and they all laugh at the retard in the tattered sweatshirt losing his teeth during a set, and what an obnoxious asshole he is. That has to be a real thing, right?
