Funnily enough, that picture also reminds me of my uncle. A double chin and gray hair are kind of fascinating to a child. I associate them with someone slipping me some change and telling me 'don't tell your mum!'.

He also died young - as Pat will. That seems to happen to a lot of men. If you get to 40 and don't have a child - as Pat doesn't - your body just understands you might as well give up. The Nikster will be cashing those German edition of In The Black checks on her own!
