Well to be fair, the US did nationalize ONE company, AIG, after 08 because if they didn’t half of the US would lose their insurance and retirements. The Trump “I’m gonna lock up lock up my critics” could be seen as authoritarian but he’s an ego manic and always say stupid shit he knows he’s not gonna do / there’s things in place to make sure he can’t even if he wanted to.
