This dude wrote a child gangbang scene in IT as the way to defeat the space spider daemon

How does anyone not bring that up all the time?

.... it’s fascinating to me that there has been so much comment about that single sex scene and so little about the multiple child murders. That must mean something, but I’m not sure what.”

Oh yeah I forgot, all writers are pedophiles

It works on a symbolical level but the execution leaves a bit to be desired.
It's supposed to signify them sharing a moment where they all leave behind childhood.
And it's not a gangbang, they run a train on Beverly if I remember correctly.

He’s gotten a pass in the literary world for awhile. Mainly for being the only good writer in a genre thats known for being shit. Most people have never read his books, and only seen the movies. If I’m not mistaken, every movie he’s been actively involved in flopped as well. None of his books are considered “canon” or really even American treasures. Just horror porn, that’s pretty well written. Fuck off if you say you’ve read all 1300 pages of IT and aren’t a horror fanatic. His books were also all written during coke and booze binges which is probably why they’re not gay.

TLDR He’s not that great unless he’s on a bender.

Always found Stephen King boring. When it comes to popular genre writers John Grisham is still the king. It's very formulaic, but it's one he makes work everytime. He writes about social issues, but they are always part of the story, and you don't get a one sided view.

He reminds me of a lot of older dudes who go woke (altho, I don't think supporting Ukraine is a woke issue). When you're really successful and 74 years old -- why not? It's a way to feel you're a good person and you have zero skin in the game. I'm sure he loves affirmative action policies, for example, but will never be applying for a job as a white male under those policies.

I'm sure he supports cancel culture anytime someone gets caught saying a fucked up thing -- luckily for him he doesn't have to worry about any cell phone recordings coming out from the '70s and '80s when he was a drunken cokehead. etc. etc. They already "got theirs" during a non-woke era and now get to feel like morally pious people by supporting whatever the woke issue of the day is.
