I just finished E2 of HROT, need to re-pirate it to grab E3. Awesome game. I'm always down for the boomer shooters myself. I am playing Turbo Overkill right now in that vein.

Yes with the new update they recommend it. The game is pretty good and has a really good atmosphere just don't expect some deep RPG.

I got back into it. As long as you can look past them stripping every bit of free rewards from the game in place of paid cosmetics, it's still a pretty fun, quicker paced TF2 clone. They did rip out like everything except the bare basics from the "original" game and paywall it, though, hence the shit reaction when it went to Steam.
Just don't spend a dime on it and it's great.

I'm keen on them too, and I still play the old Doom games regularly. Just got burnt out playing so many in a row.
Definitely recommend getting the complete version of HROT. I think the ending I'm thinking of was an easter egg, but it wraps the game up so well that you just got to hang out for a minute in game and take it in. It nails those little memorable moments from old games.
