WWAWD black powder? Seems like a fun hobby and I'd like to get a flintlock rifle kit, but I'm not sure which pattern. Kentucky, Hawken, Buffalo? Any thoughts?

I’ve wanted to do this for a long time. Specifically I find flintlock very interesting and want one over the (vastly superior) percussion cap. No idea what the best route to take is though.
I’ve shot blackpowder a few times and you really have to focus on follow through for accuracy because of the lock time.

Classic! I'm looking to own my first pistol in CA and considering a Beretta. I recently learned firearms are no more difficult to acquire here than other states, but there is a restricted list of approved models, so no H&K USP for me unfortunately.

They’re really cool guns, but it’s kinda antiquated now compared to other pistol designs. I wouldn’t recommend it as a first gun but if you’re just looking to add it to your collection by all means God bless

If you want a DA/SA, you would be better off with a Sig P226/P229. I think the safety/decocker system on the Beretta is kind of weird.

I’m sure they’re good guns but a Glock or some other striker fired pistol will probably be easier to learn how to maintain and shoot. I’m not really into pistols that deep so someone else may have a more educated opinion on them.

I disliked shooting the 92FS for no reason other than racking the slide was uncomfortable due to the cuts in it.

Finally got my NYC carry license after 1 year and 9 months of paperwork and waiting. NY sucks balls. Suffolk County resident.
Funny how the tables have turned. Back before SCOTUS struck down NYC’s “may-issue” carry license laws in 2021, only celebrities and the rich were able to get this. Nana had the exact same NYS but non-NYC resident license (“Special Carry”), but under NYS law he is no longer eligible because of his criminal record.
Won’t be seein this no more!

I’ve only shot a little of it and it’s alright. Kicks pretty good. If you’re trying to drop a deer that’s 50-100 yards away it’s not a bad choice.
Lever actions in general are a lot of fun to shoot
