I get your point but the markets responded to things Trump said and did himself. It wasn’t like Trump didn’t say anything and the markets started falling for abstract reasons. He said he was gonna do something and the markets responded.

There’s a fundamental misunderstanding of the stock market, mostly amongst boomers - if you’re putting your money in something which can create you a lot of money quickly then it’s volatile and you can also lose a lot of money quickly.

I have a modest sum invested in an index fund and that’s it. I don’t think you can really make money other than being patient and lucky unless you have insider knowledge.

I don’t believe a single “day trader” is profitable and I don’t use the commission free apps anymore because they are free for a reason (you are the product being sold to Wall Street).
