The irony is I had a paranormal experience one time, I've chalked it up to being a lucid dream but it scared the shit out of me.
I just think if there are evil forces out there, the Catholic Church going "we've figured all this out, they are enemies of Satan, the only way to combat them is to believe more strongly in us, the Catholic Church" seems like a sales pitch. I'm sure @Mass.gov has an Islam version of demons and a pro-Islam way of fighting them too.

I don't believe in God or the existence of supernatural persons because of the Bible. I believe that the Bible elucidates concepts and answers questions that humanity has wrestled with since the dawn of our history. If I didn’t have philosophical reasons to presuppose that there must be some transcendent being which created and sustains the universe I'd hardly care about a Bible.
