Pardon the language but The DMAN is fed up. Just recently lost the remote to a lovely Vizio brand Smart TV. The problem is that TV is not so "smart" when the remote is not in the equation. The television has 1 single button on it. Power. No volume buttons, no Menu buttons, no channel buttons, No directional buttons to select in the Menu. There is no Menu button. There can be only one. POWER... How fucking stupid is this?

The DMAN is not proud to tell you how upset he was when they stopped including the microphone jack on laptops. And then they came for the headphone jacks on laptops, and I said nothing. And then they came for the headphone jacks on smart phones. Do You Remembah when the first bluetooth came out? They looked like zombie retards walking around babbling to themselves.

"Bluetooth" is Green Shit. I hate the fact that I can't pair multiple audio devices all at once. You have to keep Un-Pairing and Re-Pairing (repairing apple & samsung's mistakes) Constantly unpair the computer and phone back and forth. It would be faster to plug in an aux cable. THIS is the convenience of the future? It just conveniently radiates your body cooking it with piping hot cancer beams.

Got a Roku stick. Yes, it's 10 years old. Why does that mean every App is suddenly incompatible with a device that was JUST working? Nothing has changed. Other than 4K options, which are unnecessary. Same thing happened with Spotify when The DMAN attempted to repurpose an old iPhone as his personal Spotify machine. It won't download the Spotify app. There are still VCRs that work. And a phone from 2013 is basically an obsolete, eletronic brick, taking up space.

Streaming is a garbage way to watch a movie. The quality will rise and dip randomly and drop frames. The DMAN abandoned Roku and got a Chromecast. The menu runs faster, popped on The Godfather on a streaming app. It looked like shit. Grainy, terrible low light editing, blurry image. The audio quality sounded Mono and obviously mixed from the 1970s.

Switched it out with a DVD player with a physical copy of The Godfather, the picture quality was excellent, deep noir black scenes, was actually interested in it even more just visually. Sharper image, smoother movement. ON A DVD. It's unbelievable people abandoned owning movies in favor of paying a premium monthly fee for a VIRTUAL list of select things that can be taken off at any moment depending on contractual obligations.

SIRI IS FUCKING USELESS. It can't answer basic shit. It can't change the volume when playing music, in fact talking to SIRI stops my music and can't restart it. The volume goes down and never comes back up. The DMAN is going to hang up and listen to your answer.

Battery life on most devices is too short and gets worse with each iteration

Streaming services have shit websites that frequently break and are missing basic features, like one to reset all episodes of a series to the start.

No web app has ever been or will ever be superior to its native counterpart.

I want a computer that runs a Linux terminal and has a 6 day battery life. All my other devices can eat shit and have brought me nothing but misery.

Torrents are a joke now. All of the rips are the crappy rips from streaming services with their awful compressed audio and video. Most shows are not even coming out on Bluray anymore. No more special features or commentary tracks either. They aren't even worth pirating anymore.

I'd imagine most torrents are poorly encoded for smaller file sizes on public trackers. Get yourself on a private tracker like PTP because they have standards for encoding. Nothing beats a good Blu ray rip

1 It was a free second-hand TV that didn't come with the remote. 2. Losing your remote control is about as American as apple pie. What cuntry are you from?

Might not be helpful but most new fangled TVs have apps for them with all the buttons you need and more.

You can't use your phone App as a remote unless the TV is paired with your WiFi.... And there is no Menu to pair the WiFi if you don't have the remote.

what kind of cheap bluetooth headphones have you been using? Bluetooth Multipoint has existed forever, my 10 years old bluetooth headset can connect/play music/take calls on multi devices at the same time, nowadays its not guaranteed since they are so cheap. i assume you are not using Airpods/iphone/macs since they can switch seamlessly between your phone and laptop. you went cheap and didnt do your homework brotherman

I am using the newest iPhone and an admittedly old iMac that has Bluetooth. It's just a waterproof speaker for my shower/kitchen, You expected me to buy an iHome or whatever the faggot Apple thing is called for ten millions dollars just so that I can pair devices without going back and forth between rooms to turn shit off? I have a vast collection of DVDs for this very reason. I love the documentaries, deleted scenes, and commentaries. Even the dumb little shit like Menu Bios and the design choices they used. Some even have easter egg features. Back in the days they used to go ALL OUT for the DVD to give you something extra. Now you get a digital copy through a URL that won't exist anymore in a few years.

Streaming music sucks ass too. Fuck all this shit, people should die.

Only part I disagree with. Having to switch out CDs or albums sucked dick. I do enjoy the convenience of Spotify even though their App is infuriating and has crashed every Samsung phone I've ever owned. I can download a Vinyl rip and do my own compression to the track, 9 times out of 10 it ends up sounding better than Spotify on the Extreme setting.

Yes, this is exactly what I was trying to do but couldn't pair Smart TV with WiFi because it requires a remote to do so. Plugged Chromecast in and been use that to Plex torrents.

Yet another great point... Sometimes they will literally use a never before seen alternate take from the move in place of the original. And you don't know why the movie feels different but it is. Network TV has also been caught speeding up content to squeeze in more commercials.
