The top streamers, Fuentes and Ralph, very often have watch numbers that don't mirror their chat volume. Additionally, a couple of the AF interns that defected said they coded in a viewer multiplier at Nic's request, and he enables it for his more suckass followers like Ralph.

Kiwifarms data miners found backend code relating to this as well.
