That idiot was smashed with a BAC of 0.2 before he smashed into a tree at 130 mph. Wasn't even a divided highway. Nice driving, jackass. I'll bet Zach thought you were real cool until you killed him.

He was my least favorite member of the crew, always a surly prick. Too fast and furious.

Legal limit most places is 0.08. Guy was probably a drunk so 0.2 might have been his normal but add 130mph to the mix and you're asking for it.

Yeah I got up to 130 once but on a very flat, straight freeway in my 88 Acura Legend. It was pretty scary but I wanted to see how fast I could go. I can't imagine how stupid you'd have to be to think you could make a turn of any kind that fast or even just change lanes. What a dick.

The stupidest thing I did in college was putting the pedal to the metal in a rental car for the entire rural stretch of highway from Minneapolis to Fargo. For about 200 miles I kept it pegged at 105 mph. That's all that Chrysler K car could do. The other drivers must have done a double take when they saw that shit box flying past them like it was Ryan Dunn's Porsche GT3. The national 55 mph speed limit had just been abolished, so even that desolate stretch of highway was only 65 mph.

Having grown up in the Northeast, I wanted a taste of the open highway. I didn't even have a radar detector, so only by the grace of God I didn't pass one single cop. Most areas were loaded with speed traps in 1988. I was in college to become an airline pilot, so a reckless driving ticket probably would have ruined my career aspirations.

The captain of the college flying team was even stupider. He crashed one of the college's Piper Cherokees into the Mississippi River when he hit a power line taking off from the downtown St Paul airport, trying (and failing) to show off for his buddies like he was Maverick. Nice dead career, stupid.

130 isn't all that fast in that car. I don't know what kind of road he was driving on but he must have been a shit driver.

It was a local bypass road around West Chester PA, so it was only one lane in each direction with no median but had exit ramps. He was probably afraid to turn the steering wheel at that speed, so even though he was trying to exit the bypass, he hit a tree in the wedge between the main road and the ramp. A road like that in Pennsylvania probably only has a speed limit of 45 mph, 50 tops.

I especially hate fuckers that drive like maniacs on undivided roads. In Texas there are quite a few rural roads with just one lane in each direction and nothing but a yellow stripe down the middle that have speed limits of 75 mph. One section of US 290, the main road from Houston to Austin, used to have two lanes in each direction but only a yellow center line separating them with a 75 mph speed limit. It was suicide alley until they built a grassy median just a few years ago. It is stupid but not surprising that there is still no interstate highway between Hartford and Providence, but this is Texas. Build a proper interstate for fuck's sake! Ironically, even though there are a lot of speed limits that are way too generous in Texas, it was the only state in the 1990s that had a nighttime speed limit of 55.
