University literature profs tend to teach seminal works that define a genre/style/era, books considered classics or ones written by esteemed authors, and it’d be pretty easy to describe what exactly they are teaching about the book. Is it the prose? The cultural or historical significance? The narrative structure? The use of humour/horror/mystery/romance/etc? A forerunner to a certain style or genre? A quintessential example of a style or genre? Perhaps they are using the book to teach the students about close reading and understanding the use of language? Among many other things.

Even a low level college professor teaching an intro to creative writing course would never even dream of considering Fat’s garbage to be a teachable text. They wouldn’t even read it if they knew it existed.

But of course Fat doesn’t know anything about the way a university course functions so just thinks he can say “duhhh dey teaching my book!” and that will make people think he is some kind of deep intellectual worthy of being pondered by tomorrow’s literary giants.
