Hey dipshit Hollywood doesn't make new movies anymore, they make preexisting material because it's safe and a legion of Rick's will see every pile shit they put out there. His story ideas remove so much laughter and joy out of the reader that if you could capture his narratives in pill form they would be pro-depressants.

Thing is, you could offer Pat $1.50 for the rights to shop his screenplay around. If he accepts, you're the producer for the next three years (unless he's retarded enough to sign away the rights in perpetuity.) This town is full of fucking grifters (and, to be fair, people with legit intentions) who are "producers" and that title is based on being willing to harass people like me to listen to them or read something.

Reality is, unless you have an incredible idea, if you don't have a name or track record then you need money or backers to get it done yourself. Pat clearly doesn't know the first thing about the business nor how selling a first time screenplay works. That Russian submarine thing he posted an except from was laughable on so many levels. The terrible dialogue would have killed it even if it was a chamber drama but the insanely expensive concept, for a guy who has never sold a single screenplay, is hilariously naive. He sent it out for coverage, said he'd work on it and that was literally the last time he ever mentioned it. He obviously couldn't accept the criticism because he's never wrong.

Edit: He’s also fat.

It's kind of obvious but nobody in any industry will tell you "we hate it it's not good enough" They'll either buy it or softly shoo you away with a compliment. Probably part the reason this dolt hasn't changed his number is because he's had a hundred "We'll call you"s and expexts them to actually call one day.
