I wonder if that guy really billed the SFWA 5k or if this was some petty attempt to try and claw back 5k of the money they blew on the lolsuit. It didn't seem like he did a lot of work for that 5k.

Regardless, throw another $5000 of SFWA dues down the drain. What a colossal waste of money and resources.

At what point does he become persona non grata with the SFWA? He continues to be a complete burden on the entire organization. What are they getting from him that's worth all the money, hassle, and aggravation?

So does the SFWA have to pay their own legal fees?

Yes. No sanctions, means the SFWA can just suck it.

Quasi might be able to dig his fees out of Pat's estate; I'm assuming he can argue to the judge that if Pat had just done his civic duty and parTicpaTed in the process, Quasi wouldn't have had to talk to the SFWA in the first place.
