About eight years ago I heard a young urban coon drug dealer say "Bet." A few days ago my 8 year old nephew said it.

I remember hearing "Bet" in the 90s. It was more an east coast thing at that time.

I remember being young and old folks trying to relate and discussing slang in the mainstream.

It usually consisted of 1 accturate actual phrase/term, 80% stuff that could kind of make sense but you've never heard outside of these discussions, and 19% insane projections by boomers who probably overheard some inane conversation by two idiot kids (most probably their own) and figured in their pathetic minds, they must represent all of youth.

I loved coming up with fake slang shit and teaching it to boomers like it was 100% legit. It was almost a hobby for a while.
