Alright, so there's exceptions to this, but my view is as such: Punk was often as throwaway as pop music.

I'll give leniency to some Sex Pistols and The Clash, but The Ramones, The Ruts, Black Flag, there's a reason there was no real staying power.

Songs typically lacked any meaning or musical depth.

If I said this publicly, I know I'd get my ass ripped, so I'd choose my words a little more carefully. But this is my real stance.
