There's something shiny, but hollow, about it. When I used to take dextroamphetamine to treat ADHD, after the second dosage, I'd become euphoric and sluggish. I knew it was a pharmaceutical high so I always felt gross. Vaporwave reminds me of that feeling.

Dan Mason has some good stuff, but he's a bit cringy if you watch his live mixes (he's live on camera and kinda dances), but it's still pretty great. His albums Hypnagogia and Miami Virtual are on Spotify and YouTube. He did a live mix of Hypnagogia (Rosebud Sessions?) which compliments the album pretty well but it looks like it's gone from YouTube looking just now. I saved the audio but don't really have a way of uploading it at the moment.

I'll check him out. I mostly find new stuff from Bandcamp more than YouTube. I have some albums on vinyl but I'm wondering if I'm better off just buying the cassettes they release since audio quality really isn't point of vaporwave also much cheaper to buy.

Without dub, none of that would exist. Sly & Robbie are the greatest rhythm section of all time. The same way I like plenty of metal bands more than Black Sabbath, but they started the whole thing.

You mostly only the need the big players and that's it. King Tubby, Scratch Perry, Scientist, Augustus Pablo, etc.. The genre peaked by the early-mid 80's.
