There's nothing that points this towards the Russian govt specifically, and "Russkis move in mysterious ways" isn't a credible explanation. When the Mueller investigation finally did uncover evidence of Russian botfarms, it turned out they were promoting bog standard pro-Trump/anti-liberal content. Not pulling weird shit like this.

If there's any shenanigans involved, it's way more likely for it to be a fed honeypot for kompromat (aimed at groyper who're dumb enough to do it, feds thinking the election might embolden them), or tech trannies false flagging in a bid to stoke anti-MAGA hysteria. My 1st thought was DNC psy-op.

The phone numbers had to have come from the Democrats' data. They'd have a big list of potential Harris voters and of course that would include details like the person's race. Either DNC was hacked by China/Russia/Iran (likely) or some crazy they/them who worked on the tech side grabbed the data before leaving and is doing this due to hysteria.

How's that professional? It's easy as fuck for anyone to get a list of phone numbers of random people and then verify they're black. It's just dumb and way more time-consuming and convoluted than a scheme that just involves mass targeting people in general, which suggests that it's not some professional organisation doing this. Whoever did this went out of their way to target blacks. Even if your goal is to emulate the Joker and sow chaos, there's way more economical and effective ways of doing that than something as contrived as this. Just push a bunch of conspiracy theories or fake news on Twitter.

Another hint that it's not some organisation with ulterior motives. Why the fuck would Russian botters hand type messages? Isn't the whole point to automate the process? That would be a silly theory. What isn't silly, and has been one of the few things we're actually kind of sure of in terms of Russian bot farms, is that they were pushing partisan content on social media back during the 2016 election. Specifically favoring the candidate who advocated for American isolationism and against the one advocating for what amounted to open conflict with Russia. Which is an actual valid motive.

There isn't some elaborate conspiracy here involving Putin. There's bot farms in Russia and some have ties with the (low level) state actors. Those state actors might've encouraged, obligated or set up the bot farms to artificially push messaging on social media that is politically advantageous to the Russian government. That's it, and it's not something unique to the Russian government, because botting is a simple, time-tested and somewhat effective technique.

Yeah sure, I wouldn't put it past anybody, and they've pretty much all proven themselves to do this kind of shit often enough. If this isn't the Russians this time iirc they did try and piss of the Armenians in LA in a similar way (inflammatory posters) when the whole Azeri conflict kicked off, but I could accept that it's shit-stirring trolls or our glowies too.
